It's been about a month and it's been hell. My mom has accepted my apologies and she understands I won't be with David anymore. He texts me every once in a while, apologizing and asking me to stay with him. I either don't answer or just say, no.

I walk out of the dorm at 7:50. Me and Jake walk to The Main Stream and he orders for me, it's really become a daily thing.

I sit down and pull out my computer and get lost in my writing about Shakespeare's best creation, Romeo and Juliet. Although it may be a little gruesome, it sure as hell is a favorite.

"Alright, a mocha latte for the pretty lady," Jake says and hands me my cold drink. I smile and he winks. I close my laptop and stuff it in my bag.

"So, what's going on with you and Claudia?" I ask, Claudia is his back at home girlfriend.

"Oh uh.." he pauses and takes a sip of his steaming coffee, "we broke up." He shrugs and my mouth shuts.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Jake." I put my hand on top of his. He smiles.

"I don't care," he puts his cup down, "I'm free!" And throws his hands up happily. I roll my eyes and giggle. He looks at his watch.

"Is it time?" I ask and he nods.

Me and Jake sit next to each other and listen to Mrs. Deavy speak about writing.

"Writing is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as the
headlights, but you make the whole trip that way." She says, clasping her hands together.

Beautifully worded.

I decide to write that down in my notes.

"You will be required to complete a write about the daily uses of your brain. It may sound silly, yes, but it is indeed interesting. The assignment is describing different parts of the brain during certain activities. You must use research and personal experience with this assignment. Today we are going to make a visual to assist you with your assignment."

She steps over to her computer and a PowerPoint of a brain shows up.

"We will discuss the amygdala," she says and a tiny part of the brain turns blue, "this is one of the most important parts of your daily life," she looks around, "can anyone tell me what the amygdala does?"

I raise my hand, as does Jake. She looks at me before picking someone else.

"Uh, does it make you move?" The boy asks and she shakes her head.

"No Dylan, it doesn't. Uh, Ms. Starr, would you like to assist?" She asks me and I nod.

"The amygdala is the part of the brain that develops emotion," I explain and she smiles at me.

"Amazing as always Ms. Starr, Jake would you like to tell me what system the amygdala is in?" She asks and Jake nods.

"It's apart of the limbic system." He announces and she smiles wider.

"Great both of you."

"God, they know every fucking thing. What the hell is an amphygmative?" Someone says behind me, Jake and I give each other a look before quietly laughing.

amygdala.

Jake gives me a hug before running off to class. I step into Mr. Clark's room, Daniel greets me.

"Hey, Brianna." He smiles and I smile back.

"Hey Daniel," I say back. He walks with me to my seat before handing me a sheet.

"I may need your help with something." He whispers and looks around to see if anyone heard. I furrow my eyebrows.

"Uh," I chuckle, "yeah, what's up?"

"I'm not very good at this, it may seem like it, but I'm not!" He sits down next to me, "I'm only the assistant because I have it good with Mr. Clark." He says hesitantly and I smile at him foolishly.

"What do you need help with Daniel?" I push and he sighs.

"I need to write an assignment for the class to show off my, 'good effort'," he rolls his eyes, "please help me." He begs.

"I will help you," I say and his face breaks in relief.

"Oh my god, thank you!" He says and shakes my shoulders.

"Your welcome, give me your number," I say and he stops.

"What?"

"So we can meet up later." I chuckle.

"Oh, yeah here." I pull out my phone and he serves the digits.

"Well, I'll text you after CW," I promise and he smiles.

"Thanks again Brianna, I owe you." He winks before moving back to the front of the class.

"Daniel, huh?" Someone says and I turn around to see Maria.

"No." I simply say, turning around and she huffs.

"It wouldn't work out anyway." She snaps and I look at her again.

"Why is that?"

"Your too," she has a look of disgust, "prissy? Daniels cool, he definitely doesn't want someone like you." She explains with a smug look.

"Pretty sure he doesn't want someone like you either," I say and she clenches her fists making a smile before turning around when Mr. Clark begins to talk.

I enter my last class of the day, Creative Writing. I quickly get to my usual seat and gather my notes into a small pile.

"Hey!" A girl says, sitting next to me.

"Hey?" I say and she chuckles.

"I'm Leann." She sticks out her hand and I shake it.

"Brianna." I smile and she nods.

"I just got here from Roland." She explains and I look at her in awe.

"No kidding! I wanted to go to Roland. It was my first application." I say and she shrugs.

"It wasn't that great. Hence me transferring." She giggles and I furrow my brows.

"What was wrong with it!?" I turn my body to her in curiosity.

"It was just," she stops to think about it then turns to me, "it had terrible teachers. They would teach you but not actually teach you. You would have to learn all by yourself which sucked ass for the past 2 months. I gladly got accepted to here so I just requested a transfer and, here I am." She gushes and I sigh.

"Well, I'm glad I'm here then."

Shawn runs in the class and sits in his usual seat.

"So do you have a boyfriend or anything?" I ask and she shakes her head and laughs loudly.

"Honey, I'm a lesbian!" She giggles and I look at her in shock.

"Oh my g-, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to assume, I'm just not used to being friends or even interacting with-"

"It's fine." She sighs from her laughter and I nod, giving her an uncomfortable smile.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay, I know I don't give off the vibe. It just makes the reactions funnier." She smiles.

"Alright everyone, I suppose you've done your assignment..."

One new character was introduced:

LeAnn Smithson:

Sweet, caring but can bite back. She's tall and witty. She plays football and is from Texas! Obviously a lesbian.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, a few crooked teeth, long eyelashes, and dimples.
