6, Brianna

I open my eyes to the sun beaming. I squeeze them shut and groan, closing the curtain as quickly as possible. I hear loud snores coming from the other side of the room.

I turn to see Brooke passed out, stretched on her bed with a girl sleeping on her side.

I look at my phone and see three missed calls.

I slowly step out of the bed and quietly walk to the door, opening it silently. I call back Rebecca first.

It rings a few times and she answers on the second ring.

"Hello?" I croak, not knowing my voice would be hoarse.

"Hey Bri, uh we need to talk." She says and I lean on the wall in the empty hallway, knowing that most everyone is in class.

"Yeah what's up?" I say and she sighs.

"So David," she takes a deep breath, "I saw him with Katelynn at Magianos." She says and my face goes cold.

"What?"

"They seemed, really close." She's trying to pick her words wisely, knowing how I hate Katelynn with a passion.

"What did they do?" I feel tears come to the brim of my eyes.

"Brianna..." She pauses.

"Rebecca." My voice cracks, thinking of how my best friend could betray me all a sudden.

"They were just, kissing and being really touchy. I yelled at him, I told him I'd tell you." She confesses and I feel my body slide down the wall, "Brianna, I'm so sorry." She apologizes and tears roll down my cheek.

"I gotta go." I hang up and tuck my knees to my body. I close my eyes and try to correct my breathing when it falls out of place.

We've known each other for years. YEARS. We've been dating since 9th grade. Maybe it's because I'm nervous to have sex with him. Maybe it's because I get annoyed when he never kisses me. Maybe it's because he doesn't want to kiss me. Maybe he's using me for my mother's money...

Maybe he's just tired of me...

Maybe...

Maybe he never wanted me.

My heart breaks thinking about this, I cry silently and flinch when I feel someone touch my arm.

"Woah, chill, are you okay?" Shawn asks and I wipe my face.

"I'm fine." I hiss and stand up a little too fast, making my head spin. I close my eyes and regain my balance.

"No your not, what's wrong?" Shawn asks, examining my face.

"I'm fine," I say looking up at him through my lashes.

"Just tell me what's wrong." He whispers and I give in. I put my head on his chest and cry. He's stiff for a second before his muscular arms wrap around my shoulders and lightly squeeze.

"He cheated on me." My voice shakes and I sob quietly in his chest. Shawn's arms squeeze me tighter giving me the feeling of comfort in an odd form.

"He's fucking stupid." He says and I smile through my tears. He pulls me out of the hug and wipes tears off my face, "he doesn't deserve you. He isn't worth your tears." He comforts and I wipe my eyes before nodding.

"Uh, thanks," I mumble and move out of his touch and move back towards the room. Tears still falling out of my eyes.

I don't want him to see me like this.
