Chapter 22: Lets go

We drive back to my house, but Gilinsky parks a block away and we approach on foot.

"Holy...shit." Hayes whispers as we approach my house. My house is completely trashed.

"They really must want you Kenzie." we hear. GIlinsky pushes me behind him as we turn. I peek my head out from behind him to see Matt and Stephanie.

"Matt!" I cry out rushing past Gilinsky.

"Kenzie!" he smiles hugging me.

"Oh my god Steph." I hear Gilinsky's muffled voice say. I pull away to see Gilinsky is hugging his sister tightly.

"Where is my brother?" I ask Matt, who shakes his head.

"Safe house?" Hayes suggests. I nod.

We pile back in Gilinsky's SUV and he drives to the safehouse, but as we appraoch i immediatly ge ta sense of dread.

"Gilinsky stop the car." I say.

"Why?" He asks confused.

"Just stop!" I say. Gilinsky hits the breaks and I hop out of the car.

"Kenzie get back here!" Gilinsky says. I ignore him and carefully walk towards the safehouse. I enter the house and look around. Everything appears to be normal.

Suddenly I feel a hand over my mouth and I'm pulled against a hard chest. The person pulls me into the shadows and I watch in fear as Gilinsky enters with Hayes and Sammy.

"Where the hell did she go!?" Gilinsky looks panicked. I start struggling hoping to make some noise. I start kicking my feet and am overjoyed when I kick something causing it to call over wit a crash. All thee boys pull out their guns and point them our direction .

"Come out with your hands up." Hayes commands.

"This isn't cops." Sammy says, I roll my eyes. Suddenly my captor moves forward brining me out of the shadows and into the light,

"Nash?" Hayes lowers his gun.

"Hayes?" The guy let's go of me and I rush into gilinsky's arms where he holds mr tightly,

"What are you doing here?" Nash glares at his brother.

"I'm...uh...in kians gang...." Hayes slowly says.

"You little traitor!" Nash lunges at his brother. I grab Gilinsky gun and point it at Nash.

"Touch him and I'll blow your brains out!" I say.

"Wow...real gutsy for someone who's brother is in trouble." Nash smirks.

"What did you do with him!?" I scream.

"I didn't do anything. Why don't you ask your little boyfriend here about his old gang." Nash says. I turn to look at gilinsky alarmed. He was in another gang....the same gang he must have left when he was friends with Jack.

"They have kian?" Gilinsky asks his fa e going white. Nash nods.

"Who are they?" Hayes asks just as scared as I am.

"We have to move now!" Gilinsky grabs my arm and pulls me out of the house just as it explodes.

I scream as I'm thrown to the ground and Gilinsky covers me. I feel debris and heat. This really isn't my damn day.

"Kenzie are you alright?" Gilinsky asks getting up. I nod and take a head count of everyone else. I am shocked to see Nash had covered his little brother. Nash pulls Hayes up and we all piled into Gilinskys car. He speeds away.

"What the hell happened back there?" Sammy asks.

"Theyve come for Jack and I." Gilinskys knuckles tighten. Suddenly a white truck pulls out I front of us. I scream as Gilinsky slams on the breaks too avoid a collision.

"I really didn't want to die today!" Hayes screams.

"I'm not going to let you die." Nash reassures his brother.

Gilinsky growls as the truck speeds off and he hits the gas speeding after the truck.

"Oh god...we aren't going to ram them off are we?" Matt asks.

Gilinsky doesn't respond and speeds up so he's right behind the truck.

"Hang on!" He says before pit maneuvering the truck. The truck spins out of contol before coming to a stop. Gilinsky parks so they cants move and hops out after checking his gun. Sammy and I hop out after him determined to keep him from killing someone.

"What is the big-" gilinsky stops seeing Jack in the drivers seat.

"Gilinsky, you alright?" Jack asks him.

"Yeah...where's your girlfriend?" Gilinsky asks peering into jacks truck.

"Right here," Irene says from next tok Jack.

The back window rolls down and Cameron sticks his head out.

"Kenzie!" He grins.

"Hey cam." I smile. I'm glad he's safe. I look past him to see Sam and Ricky. I also see a dark haired kid I don't recognize. Where is JC?

"We need to get moving so they don't get her." Jack to Gilinsky.

"Right...and we need to get back JC and kian." Shris sighs. They have JC!? Damn.

Who is they? Anyway?

"Ready to go?" Gilinsky asks turning to me.

"Yep. Let go get my brother back."
