Chapter 14: Lets Forget

Kian stumbles backwards and his hand flies up to cover his now busted lip.

"Kenzie what the hell?" Kian cries out. I ignore him walking over to Gilinsky.

"You let him get hurt." I growl gently touching his wounded arm. He winces in pain

"Kenzie.." Gilinsky starts but I grab his hand and drag him into the kitchen. I push him down in a chair and grab the first aid kit. Did Kian let him get shot or did he shoot him himself!?

"Kenzie..." He starts again but I shush him. I quickly clean and bandage his wound in silence, with him making little cries of pain. When I finish I stare at my work.

"Kenzie...please listen to me." He says. I slowly look up into his eyes.

"Yeah." I say wanting to kiss him again.

"We...can't be together....this....us...it won't work..." He slowly says. What!?

"But-" he cuts me off by shaking his head.

"I'm sorry. I'm just your bodyguard. That's my job." He says wincing. I'm not sure from his words or his wound.

"So you just want to forget about our 'relationship'?" I ask slightly angry. I kissed him on that bridge to save his life. What if chris tries something again? I sigh inwardly knowing chris is going to take full advantage of this.

"I'm sorry Kenzie." Gilinsky says before getting up and leaving the kitchen.

How could he basically fake dump me. I know he was trying to keep my brother from being more upset with me, but what if I actually wanted to be with him. God I'm talking like I actually like the dude.....do I?

"Kenzie?" I hear. I turn my head and see Crawford standing there and in that moment I didn't care if we were fighting or not, I needed my best friend.

I rush over to him and hug him tightly. His arms tightly wrap around me as I start to cry.

"I'm sorry he dumped you. He was a jerk for doing that Kenzie. one day you will find that guy who will appreciate you." Crawford says. If only he knew how much those words hurt too.

Eventually we stop hugging because my brother calls him out on another co-op and I'm left in my rooms to my thoughts. The only things on my mind were Gilinsky and JC. They both were in my life in romantic ways and both were unacceptable. What is a girl to do?

I jump hearing something hitting my window. What the heck? I get off my bed and walk over to the window and stare down to see Matt standing there. Why is he here?

"Matt?" I whisper down to him after opening my window.

"Come down here!" He whisperhollars. I shake my head and hurry downstairs and outside to greet my best friend.

"Hey." He smiles before I hug him tightly.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"JCS got everyone on high alert after the big shoot out on the bridge." He rolls his eyes.

"What even happened?" I ask thinking about gilinskys wound.

"After you got taken away, Kian basically lost it and asked if anyone else would like to date you and JC being the idiot that he is told him he did. At that point your boyfriend, Gilinsky,-"

"Ex.." I sadly correct him.

"Okay..uh..ex boyfriend fired a shot at JC and told him to stay away from you. He has pretty good aim and hit JC in the arm." Matt shakes his head. Was Gilinsky just doing his job or was he jealous?
