The start of a relationship is always the best. Nandyan pa 'yung kilig at excitement na makita ang isa't isa. Not knowing what to come next.
We haven't kiss. The only kiss we have done is kiss on the forehead and cheek. Nothing more than that. Sobra sobra na ang pagiging gentleman niya minsan hindi na rin ako natutuwa. Panay ang kulit sa akin ni Pepper sa details ng first kiss namin.
I didn't tell him hindi pa dahil baka kung ano pa ang sabihin niya.
Hindi kami madalas magkita though. Nagkikita lang kami pag hindi siya busy at minsan hinahatid niya lang ako pauwi tapos babalik na sa cafe.
It was all good. Being with him is great. Minsan namimiss ko siya agad kaya dumadaan ako during lunch break using coffee as an excuse just to see him.
"Are you sure coffee ang dinaan mo dito?" He teased while making my coffee.
"What else then?"
"Denver, maybe?" You two seem close."
I laughed and held out my hand for the coffee. "Matatapos na break ko. I need to get back."
He placed the coffee on my palm along with a cookie. "Dito ka nalang kasi magwork. Benefits include longer lunch break. You can also have a breakfast break, snack or dinner break. You know what, you can just sit, do nothing and just let me look at you."
"Tigilan mo na ako. Sige na, bye na talaga." Inalisan ko na siya.
Hinabol niya ako hanggang sa exit. "'Yung bayad, miss."
He bent down while grinning and showed me his cheek. Tumingin ako sa paligid. It's lunch time so there's a lot of people having their coffee and dessert. While here he is, asking for a kiss.
Tinulak ko palayo ang mukha niya. "Nope, late na ako."
"Damot." Then he initiated the kiss instead. Mabilis niya akong hinalikan sa noo. I blinked while he fix my hair. "Galingan mo sa work, love."
Bigla kong nakalimutan na nasa gitna kami ng coffee shop niya and people could be looking at us right now. They might even take pictures for all I know pero hindi ako makatingin.
Ang tanging nagawa ko ay tumango. Inikot ako ni Arvic at ginuide papuntang pinto. "Sunduin kita mamaya."
Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko at huminga ng malalim. Kalma lang heart, ha?
"Buti nalang hindi tayo lumabas. Tignan mo si Mandy, namumula sa init at nagpapaypay kahit may aircon naman." Sabi ni Farah.
"Huh?" Napalingon ako.
"Ok ka lang? Init na init ka ata."
"Don't mind me. Usap lang kayo dyan." Sabi ko bago pa nila mapansin na hindi dahil sa init kaya ako namumula.
Kasama ko si Ken sa sunod na punta ko sa shop niya. Ayaw sumama nila Nicole dahil naiinitan sila.
Arvic is smiling less this time. He didn't make our order personally claiming he has other things to do.
Hindi rin siya nakipaglokohan sa akin.
"Badtrip ata 'yung boyfriend mo." Pabulong na sabi ni Ken.
"Normal face lang niya 'yan."
"Inaway mo ata, e. Mga babae talaga!"
"Huy kapal mo ah. Ang bait ko kaya."
He laughed and nudged me. Nagtatawanan kaming dalawa nung lumapit si Arvic para iabot ang mga order namin.
"Wait lang." Sabi ko kay Ken.
Lumapit naman ako kay Arvic. "Ok ka lang?"
"Matatapos na break niyo. We can talk later. Sunduin kita."
Tumango nalang ako.
Tahimik lang si Arvic sa sasakyan. Wala rin ako masabi because somehow I know why he is like this and maybe it's my fault.
I didn't realize this earlier pero nagseselos siya kay Ken. I want to tell him that there's nothing to be jealous of dahil walang meron pero hindi ko alam kung paano sisimulan.
"Uhm.. galit ka ba? You know Ken. Ganun lang talaga 'yun and he knows we're together."
"Did he?"
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Bakit ko naman hindi sasabihin?"
"Ewan ko."
Bigla akong nainis. "Why are you making a big deal out of this? We just bought coffee! It's not like may ginawa kami at kung meron man you think pupunta ako sa shop mo?"
Hindi siya sumagot.
"Let's talk this one out. Hmm?" I urged.
I counted to five. Hindi siya sumagot kaya bumaba nalang ako.
I never imagined our first fight to be like this. Sobrang babaw at walang sense na away to the point na ayaw niya akong kausapin.
Hanggang sa nakatulog na ako ay hindi siya nagtext. Wala rin siyang text ng umaga. I went on with my usual routine and went to work.
Doon lang siya nagtext sa akin na susunduin niya ako mamaya.
"Gusto mong magdinner o umuwi?" Aniya.
"Umuwi." Ako naman ang galit sa aming dalawa ngayon. How can he act like we're okay? Nakalimutan ba niyang hindi niya ako pinapansin simula kahapon?
"Galit ka?"
Umiling ako.
"Okay."
Tahimik lang ako hanggang sa makauwi.
"I'm sorry." He said before I could get off.
"Okay."
"Teka, galit ka ba? Bakit parang ikaw pa ang galit?"
I debated whether I should ignore him pero alam kong nakakainis 'yun kaya sumagot ako.
"Panong hindi ako magagalit? Magagalit talaga ako dahil pinatagal mo lang ang away natin. And for what? To make me feel guilty? And did you forget that you don't want to talk to me?"
He sighed. "That's what I'm sorry for. Alam kong officemate lang si Ken. Alam ko iyon but I just got jealous. Because sometimes I feel like I want this more than you want this."
Doon ako napatingin sa kanya. I totally understand where he is coming from. Sometimes I forget that this is his first time to have a girlfriend. Sa aming dalawa he is the showy and clingy type.
"I get jealous, I get paranoid and I overthink too but it's because I want this to work. So please, just bear with me?"
My heart immediately soften at his words. Hindi ako nakapagsalita dahil guilty ako and he has every right to get mad at me.
"Sorry if I made you feel like that. Trust me, I know. It sucks." I smiled at him and intertwined our fingers. "Sorry na. Hmm?"
"Don't look at me like that. Wag kang magpacute."
I scrunched my nose while smiling.
He groaned, "Paano pa ako magagalit kung nagpapacute ka?"
"It's effective then." I laughed and put my head on his shoulder. "I want you more than anything. We will make this work."
"So bati na tayo?"
"Last nalang, this is for future reference. Wag mong paabutin ng isang araw ang away. Will be better for you."
I heard him cursed his friends under his breath.
I laughed as he brought my hand to his lips.
