After that, the meeting became relatively boring. I barely heard anything about the real problem at hand, and if not for Calvin and Warren's tense expressions, I would've thought this meeting was held for no reason.I started to get a little wobbly from the wine, so Calvin and I walked into one of the side rooms for me to rest. It was a dark room with dim lighting and an open balcony. I stumbled into the room, trying to take off my heels.
"Wait, Xania, let me help you." Calvin helped me sit down before kneeling in front of me and unlatching my ankle straps.
I stared at him blankly.
He looked up with a slightly awkward smile, "Yes?"
"You... are so fucking hot."
He snorted, "Thanks, but I think you've drunk far too much. How much wine did you have with Warren?"
"Two? Three. Definitely three." I held up four fingers.
"I'm calling bullshit," Calvin laughed before glancing at the door. "I'd get you water, but I trust none of these vampires."
"You're the only vampire that isn't cheating on me," I said slowly, and then burst out crying.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." He wiped my face and got close to my mouth. "You smell like wine. A lot of it. I swear, Warren, knows nothing about humans."
"You're ignoring me," I frowned, teary-eyed.
"I'm not ignoring you," Calvin grabbed both my hands. "I'm just... not commenting on your other relationships. They're... not so much my business."
"Cal? Do you think I'm cheating on you?"
"Honestly, Xania?" Calvin breathed in. "I just wish you would've picked me. But I'm grateful I get to have you at all."
"Sometimes I don't want to do this," I told him truthfully. "Like... I don't like myself. Or what I've become. I feel like a whore. And I'm fat."
"Okay, firstly, you are not a whore. Or fat. You look amazing so shut that up," Calvin stood up and pulled me with him. "Second of all: Out of all of us, I think I understand the most. You used to be a regular girl doing regular girl things and now you belong to the kings. You were thrown into a completely different world and I'm sure it's stressful."
I nodded.
"But. You have to understand my brothers as well. They've been looking forward to meeting this mysterious girl that would change their entire lives and you come, with your adorable, bubbly, sexy self, and did it in a different way." Calvin smiled at my scrunched eyebrows. "They don't know what to do with you. You, who wants them just as much as they want you."
Of course, at that moment, Henry walked in, smiling as he talked to Esme. We all paused.
"Oh," She said lightly. "Hello, again."
"Hi," I responded plainly.
Henry glanced at us both, "Well, we can find somewhere else to talk since this room is taken."
"No, wait, I would love to truly meet this Esme, and I have yet to." I limply stuck out my hand.
She smiled sweetly, shaking my hand firmly. "Yes, well-"
"How long have you guys known each other?" I interrupted unintentionally.
"We've known each other for around a hundred years or so." She responded in thought.
"That's a really long time to be just friends." I held out the 'really' long enough for me to nearly zone out.
"Xania," Henry started warningly.
