Floating aimlessly

Chapter two: Daydreaming Drew

As Drew strolled into Holby ED cupping a cappuccino for her mum in one hand  at half three on a Wednesday the hospital was in full swing in seeing patients she walked through A&E to get the lift to her mums department a man bumped into her  "watch it! Look where your going!"
"Ow" he said in an Irish accent
"That Cappuccino cost me two quid." She replied
"Could you just do we a favour and call the burns unit?" He retorted
" it had milk in it you woose!" She began
"If you don't pull through you should just say you burnt it." She continued the man raised his eyebrows "let me introduce myself Dr Will Noble at your service" he put his hand out
"Drew, Drew Naylor-Maconie and no I'm not buying you a new shirt."she replied then shook his hand. "Your Jac Naylor's daughter?" The lift dinged and the doors opened "yup see you round Noble." As the doors shut he shouted "that's Dr Noble to you."
As she reached her mums office it was empty so she sat in the spinning chair and was spinning as her mum came in and halted the chair "good afternoon Drew." Drew smiled "Hiya mum." She replied "Drew where's my cappuccino?"
"Blame will from down stairs it's all over his shirt."
"I see you've met Dr Noble"
"Yeah, his accent is cute but that's about it"
"Just need to finish some work for about 2 hrs then we can go, since Emma is at your dads fancy having a movie night?" Drew nodded
"Muuuummm."
"Yes Drew?"
"So I really wanna get my cartilage pierced.." she began but her mum cut her off "no Drew no more piercings till you 18." Drew sighed "can I at least go into town and get some nail varnish for you to do my nails tonight?" Jac nodded. Drew left her school back in Jac's office and went down in the lift and out towards town yes she bought nail varnish but she also went to a tattoo and piercing parlour and forged her mums signature and for her cartilage pierced she doubt her mum would notice and by the time she found out she couldn't do anything but also it's because her dad hated piercings and she's have to wear it for the 'wedding' she tactically placed her hair over her ear covering it. She walked back to the hospital and told her mum she was back but was gonna go on a walk; Drew's definition of walk- break into a store cupboard and get some saline for her piercings.

      Drew was trying to pick the lock on a store cupboard when will found her "oh great" she muttered "Drew what are you doing?"
"I'm having a Bath! what does it look like I'm doing!" She replied sarcastically
"Your definitely your mother's daughter" he replied "are you going to help me then?" Will took Drew into the staff room and she explained the story, the Will took her by the arm and dragged her to her mums office "Will we don't have to do this now she's like super busy!" With that she was cut off "Ms Naylor Drew has something her she needs to show you."  Jac Glared at Drew she already knew what she'd done "I'm waiting" she said icily drew placed her hair behind her ear revealing a cartilage stud. "Amelia Naylor-Maconie after a specifically told you not to!" Jac shouted "Amelia?" Will said puzzled "yes didn't she tell you proper name is Amelia?" Will shook his head "she failed to mention that" he replied
"Was there anything else Doctor Noble?"
Drew's eye line fell she pray that he wouldn't but it was too late, he did "she was also trying to break into a store cupboard." He said
"Snitches get stitches" replied Drew
"Be quiet Amelia!" That shut Drew up she hated being called Amelia "thank you Dr Noble you can leave now." As Will exited Jac Sighed "Amelia what has cotton into you do you think just because you got a new piercing you won't be in the wedding?" Drew just stared at the floor "that's what you thought isn't it. Really Drew you know better than that!"
        They sat in silence in the car on the way home and Drew was sent to her room. Hours later Jac came up to find Drew 'Asleep' she got into Drew's double bed and stroked her hair "I've spoken to your dad, he's not happy at all, your lucky he has just Emma right now he says he'll deal with you later but it's a hollow threat" Jac hugged Drew. Drew nuzzled into her mum "Jac & Drew just like the old days" Jac kissed her forehead "dayreamy Drew" with that they both fell asleep.
