Chapter 28

Xena's POV
"Remember us... Remember us." These words repeated again and again in my head. I slowly opened my eyes and things are still blurry. I only saw light and my senses slowly going back.

I was in a room. My eyes roamed and stopped as I saw Link leaning on the wall with his eyes closed. He must be tired. I groaned as I felt my back ache.

I think Link heard me because his eyes opened and walk to me with a worried look. He rest his hands on my shoulder and look at me with his worried eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked and I nodded to him half smiling because of the pain I felt on my back. I tried to hide the pain so he doesn't worry.

His eyes narrowed and he touched my hand softly. He stared at me seriously and I felt my heart thumping. It caused my cheeks to flush. I looked away because of embarrassment.

I was startled as he turned my head to face him. "Look at me." He said as his grey eyes shifted to worry. "Are you okay?" He said and I nodded.

Suddenly he hugged me cautiously and softly to not hurt my back. I hugged him back and smiled. He released me but held my hand not wanting to part.

"Tell me what happened." He said and I hesitated because I think it will worry him more. I don't want that.

"Tell us Cupcake." We shift our gaze to Caleb who pops by the door and approached me worriedly. I looked away from them for a moment thinking of the voices.

"I don't know." I said still confused. "I just heard voices saying Remember us. That's all I heard and my head rummaged." I said and both of them looked at each other figuring out what the answer is.

"We just saw your back glowed and it had a mark." Caleb said and my eyes widened? "What?...Glowed?...Mark?" I said confused and they nodded.

I looked at Link and he looked like he knows something. "When your back glowed I thought I remembered something." He said and I crunched my eyebrow trying to suck the topic. "The symbol was a family bond sign."

My eyes widened as his words was consumed by my brain trying to analyze what he said. "Does that mean they're alive?" I said and Link nodded hesitantly.

"It May be. Or not." He said and I hurriedly walk out of the bed and took my clothes then walk in the bathroom.

I heard the guys talking while I was busy changing. I really want to see the real answer of myself. I want to know why I got this power and also if they are truly alive.

As I was done changing I walk out of the bathroom and was surprised to see Caleb and Link all dressed up. I tilt my head in confusion as I looked at them.

"We're coming with you." They both said at the same time and it made me confused. "I thought you both are gonna stop me." They both shook their head.

"Nah, it's been a while since my last adventure on the military. I kinda like to travel and to keep you safe." He said and I rolled my eyes and smiled. "I can handle myself, dad." I smiled and looked at Link and he nodded to me. I smiled at him. "Let's go." I said and we all walked out of the room. But then I remembered the children so I told both of the guys that I have to let them know first before we go.

They both nodded. We walked to the hallways to Laura's room. I opened the door and saw Laura, Anita and Zero cuddled up together. Laura is telling them a story. She stopped as she saw me at the door and immediately ran to me and hugged me.

Anita too. "Xena! We were so worried!" She said and hugged me tightly. I hugged them back and smiled. I released them and kneeled in front of them.
