Chapter 31

We were driving for a long hour. The sun was already rising from the mountains. How long did we traveled though? Well I guess time pass really quick. "Were almost there." I heard Link through my helmet.

I looked at the mountain and it was very high. Clouds was covering its peak. The sun was beginning to rise causing the clouds to gleam in a beautiful yellow puffy cotton.

This made me think of what happened to my real parents. I mean my dad was a so called demon king.  I only saw him once then he already perished or died or I don't even know what really happened to him.

Then my mother who is very unfamiliar to me seems to be hidden and I don't know where she is.

This whole thing begun to swing through my head making me the most confused person. Not realizing I was dozing off as soon as Caleb called.

"Cupcake? You okay?" I snapped out of my daydreaming as I shake my head and focused on driving again.

I looked at Caleb and smiled. "Yeah sure...I'm fine." I looked back at the road and I felt Calebs unconvinced face.

"Xena. It's going to be fine." I heard Link through my helmet. I looked at him and just nodded. If only that were easy to say.

As the temperature went down I felt my body shiver through the road. I can see from afar that a blizzard begun to approach.

"Both of you press the button at the monitor when you see a snowflake logo." Link said and both me and Caleb waited at the monitor.

As we are going close to the blizzard the logo appeared on the monitor. We both press it.

Our motor gleamed by their respective colors then the tires suddenly let out spikes. Which is responsible to not let us slip through the icy road.

As we entered the blizzard I suddenly begun to numb. My body was shivering and it felt like spikes piercing through my body.

"Hold a little longer guys! I can see a gas station up ahead!" I heard Link say and I bare the cold. But it's too damn freezing!

I looked at the silhouette of the gas station and boosted my motor...so did Link and Caleb. As we arrived we saw the gas station closed.  The door was chained and it was covered in ice.

My body begun to shut down as the blizzard was getting stronger. I was very weak because of the large amount mana I took to attack Balor at the cave.

I was exhausted. Both guys looked at me and they looked worried as I covered my body. I looked at them as they looked at each other and nodded. 'What are they thinking?' They both spin oppositely and kicked the door forcefully down.

They looked at me and approached me quickly. They took their jackets off and put them on me. I felt a little warmer and comfy but still not enough to take away the cold.

They lead me inside and we saw that it was quite large for a gas station. But the inside was a mess.

Boxes were messed up and scattered on the ground some foods were also everywhere. Wrappers teared apart. The refrigerators were shut off and drinks are still in it but it was dirty so nothing will be drinkable.

My body became numb the feeling of the cold piercing through my skin kept going as if hundred needles penetrating my skin.

My legs were shaking. My body was falling but they both caught me before I landed on the floor.

"Caleb, find something to warm her up." Caleb nodded but stayed eyeing Link. As if he don't trust him.

"Don't worry Caleb I won't do anything dirty to your sister." He said as he carried me. Caleb on the other side was not convinced but as he looked at me his eyes soften. "I'll be back." He said and took off.
