(A/n): {We're here! Let's go!}

{~Akira's POV.~}

I woke up in the chair I was sitting in. I couldn't remember falling asleep... I heard (Y/n) groan, before seeming to have just woken up as well. (She/he) sat up quickly and looked around. I got up and walked over to (her/his) bedside.

"It's okay. You passed out and I brought you to the Inn. Can you remember anything?" I asked. (Y/n) looked over at me.

"Akira... I-I'm sorry." (Y/n) said.

"Why are you apologizing...?" I asked. (Y/n) looked down.

"I gave you, Sojiro, and I bet even Futaba unnecessary worry, and work... I wish people would stop worrying about me." (Y/n) said. I looked down.

"Why don't you want anyone's help...?" I asked. (Y/n) still looked down at (her/his) hands.

"I'm always getting in the way, or making people worry about me! They always take time out of their life just to help me! I don't want anyone to worry about me... Because if they do, then I'm just a burden..." (Y/n) said. I gave (her/him) a look of pity.

"Why do you think you're a burden...?" I asked. (Y/n) didn't look at me.

"I was always one to my family... I could never do anything, but be a burden. I wasn't skilled at anything either. So, the praise would always go to my older sister. She was more talented than me in more ways than one. Because of this...my mom and dad said, 'You're just a burden to this family! I wish you were never born!' the day they were killed by Demons... I didn't cry. The only one I missed was my sister. Because unlike our parents, she taught me new things, and was actually nice to me. She loved my company more than anyone else. But she was killed, too. The only reason I wasn't, was because a Demon Slayer showed up, and saved my life. He took me in, and when he passed...I took his spot as the new Leader. I didn't realize how much he and I were alike until he passed. Arin Sakoto was his name. His parents didn't like him either. So, when he passed...they didn't even show up to his funeral on purpose. It pained me to see that...but I want to fulfill my promise to him. Which was that I'd be a great Leader like him. I remember what he said after he told me about his parents so vividly... '(Y/n), I want you to know that doesn't bother me anymore. Because you've shown me a family can be a good one even if they're not related by blood. Thank you for teaching me that, (Y/n).'..." (Y/n) finished. (She/he) started to cry, and I hugged (her/him) tightly.

"I'm so sorry, (Y/n)..." I said. (Y/n) hugged me back while crying.

"It's not your fault, Akira..." (Y/n) mumbled. I shook my head.

"Whatever your problem is...it's mine, too." I said. (Y/n) looked up at me with a sniffle.

"R-really...? But why do you care about me?" (Y/n) asked. I smiled.

"Why wouldn't I, (Y/n)...?" I stated. (Y/n) smiled and hugged me tighter than before.

"Thank you, Akira... I hope I'm not burdening you with all of this." (Y/n) said. I shook my head with a smile.

"You could never be a burden to me even if you tried, (Y/n)..." I said. (Y/n) smiled.

"Is that true...?" (Y/n) asked. I nodded.

"Of course it is. I wouldn't lie about something like this..." I said. (Y/n) smiled.

"Akira... I'm glad I met you." (Y/n) said. I smiled.

"Me too."

{~Akira's POV.~}

I was surprised that the Demon Slayers seemed just fine without (Y/n) there. Yes. I had gone to the D.S.A. Base. (Y/n) wanted me there so someone could order them around in (her/his) stead. I gladly accepted this and set off for the D.S.A. Base.

"Where's (Y/n), Commander Akira?" One of them asked. I believe his name was Kyoto. I sighed.

"(Y/n) has fallen ill from pushing (herself/himself) past (her/his) limit. (She/he) ordered me to take (her/his) place until (she/he) has fully recovered." I said. He nodded.

"I hope (Y/n) gets well soon..." Kyoto said. I nodded.

"Me too." I said. Ren chuckled.

"So, you're our temporary Leader, Akira?" Ren asked. I nodded.

"Yes. Until (Y/n) feels better at least." I said. Ren smiled.

"Well, what do we need to do today, Leader?" Ren asked.

"Well, for right now, there are no reports. So, I suggest you all train." I said. Everyone nodded and started to spar with one another.

"So, this is what it's like being the Leader... It's not too different from being the Leader of the Demons. Which I was for a short time until they disowned me." I thought with a sigh.

"This is going to be a long day..."

{°•At The Inn Later That Day!°•}

{~Akira's POV.~}

"Being a Leader is hard work... I don't understand how (Y/n) is able to do this everyday..." I thought with a sigh. Which reminded me...I need to go check on (Y/n). I opened the door to the Inn. Sojiro and Futaba looked over at me.

"You sure look exhausted." Sojiro said with a chuckle. Futaba sighed.

"Don't you go get sick on us too!" Futaba said. I chuckled.

"I'll be fine. Speaking of which, how's (Y/n) doing?" I asked. Sojiro sighed.

"Well, (she's/he's) still as sick as last night. The only difference is that we were able to keep (her/his) fever from getting too bad." Sojiro said. I nodded and looked down at the wooden floor.

"I hope (she/he) gets better soon..." I said. Sojiro and Futaba nodded.

"I think we all do." Sojiro said.

"Yeah..." Futaba said. I nodded.

"Then, I'll do whatever I can to help (her/him) if you two need any help." I said. Sojiro nodded.

"Thanks for the offer. But for right now, you should get some rest." Sojiro said. I nodded.

"Okay. I will. Oh, and thank you for letting me stay here. I realized earlier that I never thanked you for that..." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck with a small smile. Sojiro chuckled.

"Don't mention it. I'll see you tomorrow. Me and Futaba have to head home now before it gets too late." Sojiro said. I nodded.

"Okay. I'll see you two tomorrow."
