Three days later and all of my stuff was in Ed’s house already. It took me twice as long to pack my stuff because Ed kept going through them and saying something funny which made me laugh and kiss him. Today he was doing a festival in France which meant that I had the day to myself but he would be back tonight.

I had spent the whole morning and the best part of the afternoon unpacking I just couldn’t do it anymore. So I put one of Ed’s movies playing but I was so tired, I fell asleep. I woke up with a text from Ed: “Just landed, love. Can’t wait to see you.” I smiled and decided to cook for him. I should have half an hour before he got home which was just enough time for me to do some rice and an omelette. So I did but I almost burned the rice and the alarm went off and I it took me 10 minutes to turn it off. When I finally did, I took one deep breath and started to do the omelette. I turned the music on and “Hard work” by Ella Henderson started playing. It’s one of my favourites so I just started singing it.

“No I'm not talking from experience
But I think I've found magnificence
And in the end of the day you give me hard work
But you're good for me
I know you seem to make my body ache
It's a feeling I appreciate
Which makes it easier when you give me hard work
But you're good for me

This time I know I won't be proved wrong
This time to win you gotta lose some
Sometimes I just wanna give you up right away
But then you go and brighten up my day…

I know I'm not wasting my time
For you to be the reason I cry
And no I'm not gonna lie
You're hard work
But you're good for me
And you're the one who's by my side
When I'm going out of my mind
But 99% of the time you're hard work
But you're good for me

And when I'm losing all my energy
You're like my only working remedy
And when I struggle to breathe it's 'cause you're hard work
But you're good for me
And when I start to feel I've had enough
And my head is feeling kind of wrong
And then I'm thinking it's tough
When you're hard work
But you're good for me
This high is a feeling that I'm fixed on
I know it was worth it in the long run
'Cause somehow everything just fell into place
And you can tell by the smile on my face…”

I felt two arms hugging me and I knew that Ed was home.

“Hi, love…”

“Shhh…Just sing this with me.”

And so we did.

“I know I'm not wasting my time
For you to be the reason I cry
And no I'm not gonna lie
You're hard work
But you're good for me
And you're the one who's by my side
When I'm going out of my mind
But 99% of the time you're hard work
But you're good for me…”

Then he turned me over and kissed me.

“Ed, the omelette is going to burn.”

“Okay…” He released me, I put the food in the plates and put them on the table.

“This is good, I could definitely get used to this. Arriving home and having the food ready and not having to do anything.”

“HAHAHA… Sorry to disappoint but I am not that kind of girl. Plus, my cooking is truly horrible.”

“What are you talking about? This rice tastes great!”

“And that’s about the only thing I can properly cook.”

“It’s okay. We’ll just order in. I did that before.”

“Sorry to disappoint.”

He laughed really hard and took my hand. “You don’t disappoint my love. I’ve realize that you weren’t like that since our first encounter. You know, when you called me a jerk.”

I smiled. “I remember that. You really were a jerk.”

“Yeah, I kind of was… But no one had called me that before. And the way that you just turned around and walked away. And I already knew you were a fan so that just made all the more choking. And from that moment on, I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I still can’t…”

“Oh, baby… I love you so much.” I got up and kissed him. And I continued to kiss him the rest of the night.
