Darry had been in a not so great mood all day. He came home from a long and stressful day at work just to walk through the door to find out You, Soda, and Pony cleaned the whole house for him and you even made dinner for everyone, including Darry.
As he walks inside, he hears you and the boys all laughing, telling funny stories, and overall, getting along really well.
"Whats all this?" Darry asks lightly smiling and taking off his shoes.
He looked around to admire the now spotless house and the beautiful table setting that Soda helped you set up.
You stood up to make him a plate of dinner.
Y/n: "You sit down. You've done enough work, i'll get you your plate."
Y/n: "Well, i know you've been real stressed lately with work and i never realized how much pressure you are under having to pay bills for you and the boys, having to feed everyone, and just take care of your own brothers a lot, it can sometimes be too much for one person so i figured i could— WE could- all give you a week or so of relaxation after work."
Darry: "i— wow.. you know you guys really didn't have to do all this.. i-i appreciate it a lot.. but i'm a man. I'm supposed to provide the family with relaxation, not the other way around." He said with a hint of sarcasm.
Soda: "oh come on. WE appreciate everything you do for us every day. This is nothing, really. Plus, y/n insisted on doing this for you herself, but we convinced her to let us help, that way we all show a little gratitude." He smiled, patting Darry's back.
You all proceeded to finish dinner, laughing, smiling, all getting along. It was the best evening ALL of you had in quite a while.

Y/n: "so.. how was everything? Dinner?"
Darry: "y/n.. i can't explain to you how amazing it was. Not just dinner.. but to see you, sodapop, and Pony to be getting along like that.. that's what i think brightened up my day.. a-and the clean house?? How did you do it. It looks incredible!"
You squealed. You were so happy he was finally happy, instead of stressed and irritated.
Y/n: "well im glad it all made you happy. It better have because if im telling ya the truth, they were a pain in the bUtt trying to clean properly."
He just laughed and looked down. I haven't seen him this happy, or even laugh like that in.. well. Never! Which made me happier than words could explain.
He pulled you into a short, but sweet little kiss and then a long, deep hug.
