My lungs burned and my legs ached from running so fast. The wf growled again and a sudden weight knocked me over and pinned me to the ground.

It snarled my ear, it's razor-sharp claws ripping the fabric of my maroon hoodie and cutting into my back. Oh God, I was going to die. The wolf climbed on top of me and sat on my back as a way of making me stay put. A defining howl pierced the quiet, and after a few seconds, more joined it.
My ribs ached from the crushing weight. I heard low growls nearby and knew that more wolves were approaching. Well shit. I squirmed under the wolf, making him dig his claws deeper into my back and I winced.

I peered up as more wolves of all colours and sizes entered the small clearing where I had been pinned. My body shook as I tried to move the weighty black wolf off me, it growled again and I slumped to the forest floor. A grey and white wold padded it's way up to us and all of the wolves, including the one on my back, cowered away. This was their Alpha. I could tell by the way his yellow eyes glowed, the way he strode up with pride, his body screamed danger and his pack was terrified of him. He was powerful.

"Sup, bro." I sat up and grinned at the Alpha.

He just growled at me, lowering its head so we were eye level. I forgot how tall males were in wolf form. All males were taller and more powerful than us females, we were supposed to take care of the pups while the males went out and hunted. I couldn't even think about doing that, it just seemed so sexist. The Alphas lips were pulled back in a snarl as it moved its head closer to mine.

"So... um, what's goin on here?" I asked as I backed away.

If I could just get him to shift into his human form then I could... What? Then I could what? Be attacked by all the other members in the pack? Get myself killed? Scream as loud as I could? I was helpless, no matter how much I tried to deny it, females were weak. I am weak.

"What do you want?" I asked in a bored voice, "I'm tired and cold so let's make this quick, shall we? So turn into human form and we can talk this out like civilized wolves."

I could see the reluctance in his glistening yellow eyes. He gandered at me, then nodded and stepped back for more room. I really hoped he would have clothes on, sometimes if we didn't want our clothes to get ripped we wouldn't wear them while shifting. I watched as his body transformed into a human. He had silver hair that shone in the moonlight, a strong build and, thank god, he had a pair of ripped jeans and a singlet. I frowned at his unfamiliar square jaw and golden-yellow eyes. I had never seen him before.

"Let's get straight to the point." He started in a low voice. "I know that you're the Alphas mate, and I need you to tell me everything you know about him."

"Why?" Wow, really? 'Why' is the only question you can come up with? "What did Liam ever do to you?" That's better, I cheered myself.

"Liam?" He sounded confused. "I don't know who he is but I'm talking about Justin."

I froze, shocked. "What?"

We both stared at each other for a moment.

"I think you have the wrong girl, buddy," I said as I quickly stood, preparing to try and flee if necessary.

The wolves growled at me again, stepping forwards and making a circle around me. Yay! I'm trapped! Could Liam sense my unease? I really hoped he could because I'm kinda scared and I don't like being scared.

"Your names Ruby Elisabeth Daily, Right?" He said, also standing.

My breath hitched. No, I couldn't have two mates, it's not possible... Is it? My phone suddenly broke the silence, I took a gander at the Alpha.
