"No." I had to strain my ears to hear him, but that single word shattered me, "it was just us."

"And how do we know you're not lying?" Beta asked him.

"Cause I don't... I don't wanna be tortured again." He moved his stumps for emphasis.

He didn't have arms or legs, and stumps was the only word I could think of to describe them. I closed my eyes and turned away from him, crossing my arms over my chest and fighting the tears.

"Luna, we should go." Beta said from behind me.

"Luna, eh?" I heard stumpy rasp, "well if you're the Luna then I guess I could let some information slip..."

I turned back to h, "for a price, right?"

"Let me outta here, " he said, then broke out into a coughing fit, "or at least into a more comfy room, it's not like I can go anywhere."

I frowned, he's not wrong, "Okay, only if the info is legitimate, though, but if it's not then I am going to do much worse than cut off your limbs." I warned, earning a raised brow from Beta.

"We aren't working for the government, " he said, leaning forwards, "we were hired by a man who said to kidnap you and bring you to him, then he would give us the money and new IDs and passports."

I frowned, "describe him,"

"I dunno, blond hair, blue eyes, around fifty or sixty... Six foot or somethin' like that."

I blinked, "Are you sure?"

He nodded, "why? You know him?"

I pulled Beta from the room and headed up the stairs and into the packhouses lounge room.

"He's my dad," I said to Beta, "And I know how to find him."

Liam's P.O.V
The silver chains still burned no matter how much time I spent in them. There were two guards stationed outside my little cell, both rogue wolves.
My heart ached as I thought of my mate. My poor baby probably thought I left her again. When my parents had called me downstairs there had been five men there. The first one had said that if I called the pack or tried to warn Ruby then they would kill her, they had a sniper in the house next to hers looking through the window with a sniper.
I had stayed quiet and they'd put me and my family in against and had stuck a needle in me that blocked mind links with everyone. They'd said that if I cooperated then no one would get hurt, but if I didn't then they would kill my family first, one by one, very slowly in front of me. Then they would kidnap Ruby and do unspeakable things to her while I watched. I couldn't let them hurt anyone of them so obviously, I cooperated. I missed her so much, I just wanted to be at home, watching a movie with her snuggled into my chest all safe and sound.

But I guess being the Alpha had some risks, and being an Alpha with a mate is even harder because them you have a weakness. Anyone could threaten her and I would cooperate with them.
I just hope she's okay. Last time she got taken from me I almost cracked but we found her just in time. But she's more sensitive and emotional than me, for all I knew she had already cracked and my pack was without an Alpha or a Luna.

I was yanked from my thoughts when the large rusted metal door opened and Dylan, Ruby's dad, walked in flanked by two other rogue wolves.

"Good morning Liam," Dylan said cheerfully, "I expect you had a nice nap?"

"What do you want?" I spat, getting straight to the point.
