"You're sure he didn't say anything to anyone?" I asked for probably the millionth time.

"No," Beta said, sounding frustrated, "Liam isn't here and I haven't spoken to him in three days,"

"Okay, but will you call if you hear anything?" My voice was small and desperate.

"Okay," his voice softened, "Luna, I really am sorry,"

I sniffed, "Yeah, bye," I hung up.

I threw the phone on my bed and sighed. Two days. It had been two days since Liam had left and gone missing, since he'd left me. I shook my head. It didn't make any sense, he wouldn't leave me, it was almost physically impossible for mates to leave each other. Now I know how he felt when I got kidnapped by the wolf hunters and Garret. It made me sick, literally sick, not knowing where he was or if he was in any danger.

He'll be fine, I told myself, it's Liam, he's not the Alpha of the sate because he's nice. I went downstairs, half expecting him to be in the kitchen, but it was just as empty as it was yesterday. I ran a hand through my knotty hair and picked up and apple, biting into it. I had to think, where would Liam go? Who were Liam's biggest enemies or greatest threats? Who is dumb enough to kidnap and Alpha and take him from his pack and Mate? I bit into the apple again and swallowed.

"Where are you, babe?" I muttered to no one in particular.

I threw the apple core in the bin and walked out the front door. I sucked in a deep breath and sank down onto the porch, putting my head in between my knees. My chest felt tight with the need to cry, to burst into tears, and mourn the loss of my precious mate.  I looked up from the ground and over to their abandoned house. With a sigh, I stood and made my way across the street and reached under the flower pot for the spare key. I unlocked the house and stepped into, closing the door behind me and placing the key on the table.

I trudged up the stairs and into his dark bedroom. A few band posters were tacked up on the grey walls, photos were framed and sat on his bedside table and his tallboy. I walked over to his bed, my fingers lightly brushing the quilt before and dropped onto the mattress and curled into a small ball, inhaling his scent. Wood-smoke, pine, and forests.

"I miss you," I whispered, feeling the hollowness inside me grow and grow until it swallowed me whole.

"We think we might have a lead." Beta started, "but we're not completely sure."

"Tell me," I said almost immediately.

"Well, you know how the wolf hunters kidnapped you?" He asked and I nodded, "we think that we didn't get them all, there could've been some that you hadn't seen."

I frowned, "that's a possibility... Are any of them still alive and well enough to talk?"

He nodded hesitantly, "Yeah, but. I don't think you'll want to see them."

"Why?"

"Well... The only one that survived has no limbs and his eyes were clawed out..."

I froze mid-step, "who did that?" I asked slowly, not sure if I truly wanted to know.

"The alpha." He said and my breath caught in my throat.

"O-okay..." I stuttered, not sure how to feel about it.

Part of me was terrified of him, but the other part was glad that he got what he deserved.

"Where is he?" I asked.

"Down in the attic, we're not sure if he's still... You know, able to talk," he explained

"I don't care if you're not sure, we're going to find out."

LOOK, I KNOW IT'S BEEN A WHILE AND THIS IS SHORT BUT I'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY WITH STUFF SO I'M REALLY SORRY... WELP, BYE
