I watched from the shadows as two pups and a woman rushed up to the body.
"Daddy!" The little girl screamed, trying to shake him, "Daddy, wake up!"
The woman, his mate, fell to her knees and sobbed. She held her children in her arms and cried. Then she noticed me. Her eyes glowed dangerously and she stood and charged at me, shifting.
"You killed him!" She screamed, ripping at me. "You killed my mate! He had a child! HOW DARE YOU!?"
"But he was trying to kill me!" I reasoned, "please! I did t mean to kill him!"
"Murderer!" She screamed.
"No, no I'm not!" I cried.
"MURDERER!" That word echoed in my head.
"NO!" I screamed, flying up.
People rushed into the room. The walls were getting closer to me, suffocating me.
I clutched my ribs where my lungs were. I couldn't breathe. My entire body shook.
"Ruby!" Liam exclaimed, "Ruby look at me!"
Liam was grabbing my forearms and shaking me. Tears rushed into my eyes and the wolf's face was all I could see.
"Ruby!?" Liam held my face, then looked back to his warriors, "Call a doctor!"
