Sarawat was sitting on a chair of the private promenade of the suite when he heard that Tine came back, he stood up and noticed that he was smiling. He smiled too and he asked

"So, are you ready for lunch?"

"yes give me a minute" Tine replied as he started dressing with something more elegant

"I wanted to try the restaurant à la carte, I'm really curious to..." Sarawat started but Tine immediately interrupted him

"Oh no Sarawat, we will have lunch with Fukuda and Fischer, the table at the restaurant of the first class is already booked"

"But... I don't want to have lunch with them..." Sarawat replied whining, Tine turned back and looked at him

"Stop acting so childish, you know it's for work, why do you keep complaining so much? Is there anything that you want to tell me?"

Sarawat remained silent for a moment and shook his head. he didn't want to disappoint him even if sometimes Tine was such a jerk.

"You should go first, I'll arrive in a minute"

"Alright... see you later" Tine replied and left the cabin closing the door behind him.

Sarawat stared at Tine's pillow for a moment thinking about his gift and how to tell Tine the truth, then he tried to focus on something else. He dressed in his best and went downstairs. The light was incredible, he got on the D deck and went through the reception hall, a waiter opened the door of the first class restaurant, a large part of the passengers were already sitting at their tables and finally he noticed the table were Fukuda, Fischer and his orderly and Tine were.

"Goodmorning Herr Fischer, Fukuda san and..."

"Oh, Karl Meyer, nice to meet you sir" the young guy said standing up

"Nice to meet you too" Sarawat replied smiling.

"So, did I miss something? You weren't talking about some embarassing things that involve me right?" Sarawat asked

"Oh no absolutely, by the way, let's just enjoy this lunch, we have a lot of time to think about our work right?" Fischer said

"I couldn't agree more Herr Fischer" Sarawat replied.  Fukuda took the small paper were the menu was written and he was running his fingers nervously, Tine wasn't sure about what was going on, Sarawat was talking so easly without trying to embarass the other guests, just a moment before he was trying to skip that lunch and now he was chatting with Fischer like old time friends!

The waiter arrived with the entrée and they started eating but Fukuda looked even more nervous now

"Fukuda san, are you alright? Don't you like the food? Do you prefer something else?" Fischer asked while his orderly was staring at Tine. Tine was particularly handsome that day and in that place, the round table was near one of the painted window and the sunlightbehind him made him look like a bright vision, Sarawat noticed it... and noticed how Meyer couldn't take his eyes off of him.

"It's delicious... nothing to worry about... I just need a moment" Fukuda stood up and went to the reception while the others  remained at the table and didn't pay much attention.

"Goodmorning... where is the telegraph room?" Akio asked, the receptionist bowed and replied

"The telegraph room is on the boat deck but passengers aren't allowed there, if you want to write your message we will send it immediately sir"

"Thank you" Fukuda replied and took a sheet that the receptionist and wrote

Any news about lieutenant Suzuki Ryo? Fukuda

He gave it to the receptionist and paid for it. He sighed and came back to his seat.

"Feel better now?" Sarawat asked

"Yes thank you"

Sarawat kept chatting for the whole time, he even started talking to the orderly as he discovered that he loved Goethe's works

"Yes, the first time I heard about him was when I read the sorrows of young Werther, I enjoyed a lot of his poems too but that book has a special place in my heart" Sarawat said patting his chest, Meyer looked really excited, he was a really shy guy but as he and Sarawat started talking he calmed down immediately.

Finally the dessert, Tine kept looking at Sarawat, he tried and tried again but he couldn't understad what was going on.

"Do you want to join me in the smoking room for a cigar and a glass of brandy? I know that the orchestra will play something as a welcome concert"  Sarawat said as he stood up

"Why not" Fischer replied

"I'm sorry but I have to decline sir" Fukuda replied and left. Enough is enough, Tine wanted to clarify the situation and as Sarawat started walking following the german diplomat he grabbed his wrist.

"Sarawat... can you come with me? I don't feel... good..." Tine said looking at Sarawat with puppy eyes. Sarawat couldn't resist and Tine knew it even he didn't know the reason.

"I'm sorry Herr Fischer, maye next time" Sarawat said

"Don't worry, bye" the german diplomat replied.

Sarawat and Tine went back to their cabin, Sarawat looked at Tine worried, tine sat down and Sarawat called one of the maids

"A cup of tea please" the maid bowed and went away to prepare what Sarawat asked for.

"Are you ok Tine?" Sarawat asked holding Tine's hands in his.

"I'm ok..." Tine replied, it was so cute how Sarawat was taking care of him

"Are you sure? Your hands are so cold"

"Yes Sarawat... don't worry"

"The tea sir" the maid said

"Oh thank you, drink this Tine, you will feel better after it"

"Sarawat... thank you.. but why did you act so weird at lunch?"

"Since I didn't want to have lunched with them and you forced me I just had to hide my true feelings..."

"Sarawat..."

"Don't worry... I'm used to it..." Sarawat answered with a sad smile. Tine looked at him for a second, he thought about his next answer but at the end he just laughed and said

"Stop being so dramatic"
