"Are they gone?!" Jenny shouted as they sped down the empty field. They've gone through the woods unscathed, but they could still hear the slight whistles just behind them.

"I don't know! Just keep running! " Edna shouted back, and they did.

They pass the empty field now and into the woods they go again. Tree branches hitting every part of their body, sticks snapping under their feet, and sweat dripping down their foreheads.

Halfway through the woods, Jack stops in front of them, making the others stop as well.

Once the coast was clear, they all collapsed to the ground, gasping for air, and no one spoke for a minute until Neil breaks out in laughter.

"That was fun," He said, laughing hysterically. The rest of them burst out in laughter, hands gripping their tummy.

Who knew they'd actually break out of detention?

"Did you saw how scared Jack was when he told us to run?" Jenny laughed, making everyone drop dead in tears as she mimicked the way Jack looked.

"Hey! All of you were scared as well!" Jack throws his beanie to Jenny's face.

After their jokes, Bea reached inside her bag and handed them their phones.

They sat there in the middle of the woods, watching the trees hovering above them. It's probably 5 in the afternoon by now, and it will get dark soon once they get out of the woods.

"Anyways," Jack sat up straight and the others did so as well, brushing the dirt off their shirt. "I don't think I introduced myself properly back in detention. My name is Jack. Call me Jj if you want." He said, waving his right hand in the air.

"I'm Jenny but y'all can call me Jen."

"Neil."

"Bea."

"and I'm Edna."

"Well it's pleasure meeting you guys. But I need to go. I'll see you all— " Jack was cut off when they heard the whistles again.

"THERE THEY ARE!" One of the school guard shouted.

"again?!" Neil groans and they make a run for it again.

This time the school guards are catching up, but they ran as fast as they could, until they were out of the woods.

Once they reach the pavement of the road, they went their separate ways, still running.

"Bye guys!" Jack shouts. "Don't get caught!"

"Bye!" They all yelled at one another.

Bea runs the other way with Jenny and they dragged themselves into an empty dark alleyway of town buildings, where no one can see them.

The guards are still out there and they don't know how much longer they'll be able to hide.

Jenny grabs Bea by the wrist and pulls her inside a door.

"Is this even allowed?" Bea whispered nervously as they entered the back door of a bakery.

"Relax, Just until the guards are gone." Jenny said, looking out the small window of the door. They stand there, waiting.

In a while, the guards will probably give up and leave soon but they weren't sure when exactly. They could be stuck here until sunset and Bea will be in more trouble.

She checks her phone and sees that it's almost 6pm. She looked over her notifications and saw that she had 8 missed calls and 20+ unread messages from her mother. By this time, she's probably at home and Bea is not there to watch over her siblings.
