❀" Don't flatter yourself. I doubt that will happen. " Neil rolls his eyes, annoyed by all the gushy talks.
It's an early Monday morning and what I mean by early, it's exactly 6 in the morning.
They all headed to school, way before any other students or teachers could show up. This is the only way they can sneak into the hidden room without being caught.
" I mean.. guys please help. Valentine's Day is in 3 days and I need to do something for Kyla. " Jack begs with his puppy eyes and tendency to pout his mouth.
" And exams are next week so no thank you..." Jenny tells him. She sits on the carpet with books and notes scattered all around her.
" No matter how much you study Jen, I'm pretty sure you'll still fail the exams. " Neil says with a slight laugh.
" Very funny " Jenny says and throws a thin book at Neil which he quickly dodged in no time.
He laughs out loud. " Ahahhaa you miss, you suck at throwing. "
" Shut up! " Jenny flicks her hair and averts her attention back on the book she was holding.
Jack, on the other hand, was currently begging for help from Bea and Edna. But the both of them were not giving in. Apparently, Valentines is a big day for those who are 'in love' in this school, so this includes Jack. Throughout the whole weekend, he's been planning on surprising Kyla at the least uncomfortable way. But he needs help from the only friends he could trust.
" Jack... I wish I could help but I suck at these whole romance thing. " Edna says. She was also focusing on studying for finals since of course she needed to aced it all.
" Yes you do! You gave Lizzy advice on how to get me. I need that " Jack pouts his mouth again. Edna couldn't help but feel guilty, but she was telling the truth. She only said those things to Lizzy so she wouldn't be cursed on by her cliques. She never really understood the whole romance thing or how to do it.
" Come on Jack... I mean that Kyla girl is hard to get. I don't think she'll fall for anything you're planning to do on that special day. " Neil says. Everyone else nodded their head, agreeing to what he said.
Kyla is pretty, she's smart too, and a bit social to other students, but she isn't into dating or into those romance stuffs. She is too focused on being the top 5 "smartest" girls in school. Meaning, she's the most nerd of all nerds. The one that studies all day and participates in all school activities.
" All I can do is hope. Hope that she'll eventually likes me back. " Jack says. Now that Neil pointed the obvious result, Jack felt disheartened. His confidence is now thrown away. They all notice Jack's sudden change of mood. Noticing the quietness, Jenny averts her attention to them, and they all look at each other with guilt inside their eyes.
Jenny shuts her book, sending a loud bang that reverberated around the room. They all jumped by the sudden sound and looked at her.
" Fine. I'm in. Freak the finals. What's your plan ? " Jenny asked.
With no hesitation Jack quickly grabs his notebook from his bag and read all the ideas he wrote down the other night.
1. Lead her to a room of flowers, balloons, and candles.
2. Take her out on a movie date
3. Write a song for her and perform it in front of a whole crowd.
4. Make a poem for her
5. Buy all sorts of-
"Okay okay enough. " Neil stops Jack from going on. He covers his ears to block out any more of his ideas. " You make it seem like you two are dating. Those things will totally creep her out. " Neil says.
Jack throws his notebook aside and turns to look at Neil. " Then HELP ME. " He tells him, dragging the last two words out of his mouth.
" Well Jack, I think writing a song for her is a pretty good idea. You can sing and play the guitar right ? " Bea asked.
" No. " Jack answers.
Jenny rolls her eyes. " Oh Jack, the popular boy in school, the one that gets all the girls, can't even impress the one he likes. "
" You guys are not helping..."
They sat there in silence, thinking of all the good and sweet ideas that they can come up with. But every idea spoken out led to arguments and complaints all because Neil thinks it's too "Cringe"
" What about you take her out on a picnic ? Or stargaze ? Then confess your feelings again. " Jenny tells him and they all thought about it for a second. " Oh come on. It's better than surprising her with balloons and candles. "
" I agree with Jen in this one. " Bea says, raising her hand in agreement.
" Me too... " Edna raises her hand as well. The three girls look at Neil for his approval.
" Okay this plan is better. " He says. They all smiled and turn to look at Jack but he was too busy thinking.
" That's great... but where do I do it ? " Jack asked.
Now the thinking and planning is back. They sat there in silence again until someone comes up with a good idea.
" What about... the football field ? Stargazing there is really nice. " Bea suggested.
" What about the guards ? " Edna asked worriedly, she ain't down to get in trouble again.
" About that... the guards don't really search the football field after 7. That's what I heard from other students. " Neil said.
" GREAT! It's settled! Now all we need to do is plan the food and all the other things. Jack just focus on what you need to tell her yeah ? We got the rest under covered. " Jenny clasps her hands together and went back to studying her notes.
" Thank you guys. " Jack tells them, with his brightest smile.
