Arriving to school on Tuesday, no one paid much attention to one another. Hallways were pretty quiet, gossips were less spoken, and students were busy studying, surprisingly.
Possibly because another exam week is scheduled, or the fact that first semester is ending by next week. Since teachers were constantly nagging at the students to finish all their missing works, every single one of them were busy catching up, especially the students with failing grades.
But one thing that surprises Edna and the others, is that Carl has been subtle and low-key. They guessed that being beaten up by James and his friends, he must've learned his lesson.
"He hasn't been causing trouble since we first stepped on campus." Jack says as they walk to the club room.
"He should keep that up. I'm done with his games." Edna tells them.
"Thank you guys... for defending me again."After being told about the fight during homecoming, Bea can't help but feel guilty for letting them get hurt. Edna gives her a gleaming smile to assure her that everything's fine, and that she has nothing to worry about. After returning one back, they arrived in front of the old art room and hopped inside through the open window.
Arriving inside the club room, they were all astounded by the new furnitures and dazzling mini lights that decorated the walls of the room.
There were two mini sack beans placed on the carpet, a couch at the other side of the room which was pushed against the wall, and the table covered with a table cloth with pillows on the chairs. The best part, a small mini fridge at the corner of the room. Now it literally feels like a club room. It was better than their basic plain one that they were tired of seeing every morning. "Wow... who did this ?" Jenny's mouth widens in surprise to see picture frames of each of their yearbook photo, displayed on the wall near the white board.
Jack saunters to the table, picks up a note, and reads what is written in perfect cursive.
Since Monday was a holiday. I took the time to redecorate the room for you kids. Don't ask how and just be thankful. Spent so much money for this.
P.s There Are snacks in the fridge.
From: Mr.Edgar, your now favorite teacher.
"He is right. Favorite teacher of all." Neil claps his hands together, and runs to the fridge to see what kind of snacks there are.
"He did all of this ?" Bea asked, wondering how Mr.Edgar was able to bring the whole couch down the stairs.
"I guess he hired some people to arrange and bring stuffs in." Edna shrugs, taking a guess.
Since they haven't eaten breakfast yet, they all settled and ate the snacks Neil took from the fridge. Without any word being spoken, Edna opens her mouth to ask something. For help.
"Hey guys. Where do you think I can work at ? For part-time."
They avert their attention away from the bag of chips, and gave her a blank look. " Why?" Jenny asked. "Something wrong ?"
"My mom is having a hard time paying bills. She wanted me to drop out of school to help her out but I don't want to. So maybe a part-time job will do." Edna tells them.
