The day has finally come, and Jack was anxious. For the past 2 days, he's been planning on what he wanted and needed to tell Kyla, so he wasn't fully aware of what the others had planned.

The whole day at school was crazed. Since Valentine's Day is the only day you'd find out if your crush likes you or not, it caused half of the students to sulk, and the other half to celebrate. Jack, on the other hand, was unsure of which team he'll be in after his time with Kyla.

So when Jack got home after school, he took all of his time to prepare himself.

Kyla, you already know how I feel about you.

Kyla, do you mind if I court you ?

Kyla, Do you feel the same way ?

He looked straight at his reflection at the bathroom mirror as he rehearsed over and over again. After minutes of contemplating on which hairstyle he'll do, he got himself all dressed up. During his 2 hour video call with Jenny and the others last night, they helped pick out his outfit beforehand since Jack has poor taste in style. Jeans and a dark polo was what they picked from Jack's various choices. From staring at his reflection once again, he did not regret making them choose his outfit.

Once the sun was out and it was pass 7, he heads out. On his way back to school campus, Jack went back to his rehearsing stage, and every step he takes, his heart flutters in agitation.

As he arrives, he looks around to make sure no guards were on patrol. So when the coast was clear, he heads to the middle of the field where the picnic was prepared.

" Wow... they did great. " He tells himself as he observes all the decorations and food settled on the ground. A big blanket was spread on the grass with candles lighted up around it. " They said candles were a bad idea. " He smirks in amusement. From all the nervousness he was feeling, Jack grabs a biscuit from the tray and takes a bite...

" Jack ? " Someone says behind him. He shoves the remaining biscuit into his mouth and turns around to see Kyla standing at least 6 feet away.

" Oh hey Kyla. You came.. " He swallows the biscuit down his throat, trying his very best not to choke on it. His heart beat started to race rapidly as she took another step closer.

" Yeah.. you called me so I thought it was something urgent. " She says and waves her phone in mid air.

" Well I uh- " Jack was lost at words. He couldn't find the right explanation to say. Apparently, he didn't informed her beforehand about the picnic date he planned. As funny as it seems, he just called her to stop by instead of asking her to come.

" Do you want to have a picnic with me ? " He blurted out. He wraps his hands together timidly and waited for her to answer.

" Is that why you called me over ? " She asked.

Jack nods without saying anything, and a strong gust of wind passes through, causing half of the candles to die out.

Kyla seemed a bit hesitant to say yes but she had no other choice. " Since I'm already here.. yeah.. sure."

Jack motions her to sit on the carpet and she did. Before settling down beside her, he lights up the candles again to brighten up the darkness that surrounds them. It was quite awkward at first, but Jack tries his very best to keep up the mood, even if he isn't the funny slash "congenial" type of person Kyla wants him to be.

" Here have some.... " Jack hands her a basket full of bread and cookies and Kyla, for the first time, did not 'hesitate' to take some.

" This taste good... who baked these ? You ? "
She asked.
