❀Edna expected the weekend to fly by quickly, and it sure did. When Monday came, she couldn't help but think about skipping school for the day.
Her parents had a rough fight last night, like they always do every week, which lowered Edna's eagerness to attend school.
Stupid parents.
However, she had no where else to go since home is also a place she wants to escape from. Staying there will only make it worse for her well-being, so she sucked it up and here she is, at a place she calls hell.
"Ready for after school Edna?" Jack asked as he sauntered towards her. The campus was quite empty and little students were roaming the hallways. She left her house early this morning before her parents woke up and start fighting all over again.
Edna hates hearing them fight, especially during early dawns when she didn't have much sleep. So this morning, she managed to wake up early than she intended to.
"Yeah I am. Did you bring extra clothes?" She stops in her tracks and turns to face Jack.
He looks at his uniform and back at her, a look of shock displayed on his face.
"You forgot didn't you?" She sighed disappointedly at the poor boy who unfortunately, will have to clean the art room in his uniform. How uncomfortable that would be.
Jack smacks his forehead with his bare hand. "It slipped off my mind," He groaned out loud.
"Sucks to have stm," She teased, receiving a glare from him before walking again.
"In for breakfast?" She asked, gesturing at the open doors of the canteen.
"Sure, I'll eat with you and the rest," Jack followed her as they entered the cafeteria. Only a few students were inside, which Edna was silently praying for when she arrived to school.
"The rest?" Edna seemed a bit lost by what he said.
"Yeah the rest as in Neil, Jenny, and Bea. Although Jenny said she comes late," He looks at her, shock by the fact that she forgot about the plan they made. "You forgot didn't you?" He raised an eyebrow.
Her mind thought back to the time when they were walking home from detention last week Friday. Before dropping Edna home first, they planned on getting along and hanging out in school when they are free.
"Oh yeah..." Edna felt a little off by the idea of them hanging out. They only knew each other for a little while. Since detention, breaking out from hell, sharing secrets, and a walk home got them to get along, Edna can't help but find it weird and...new? She wasn't sure.
"Is something wrong?" Jack noticed Edna's troubled look on her face.
"Nope," She shakes her thoughts away and led the way to the food area. Today's breakfast menu is fruit salad, Mac n' cheese, or cereal. The both of them chose the second option of course.
Who in the world would eat fruit salad early in the morning? Edna thought to herself.
Jack walked towards an empty table nearby and Edna followed along behind him. Once they were seated, more students started to file in. Classes will start in an hour and a half from now, and Edna wondered why on earth there were students coming in this early. Waking up early in the mornings is a big struggle for most students too.
A group of girls rushed towards their table, and Edna knew what was going to happen after, so she braced herself by the horrifying scene that awaits her.
