"hey ash," Michael spoke over the phone as he was walking from school, luke by his side.
"be ready when you get home today for your appointment."
"I'm not going ashton, please," Michael begged ashton over the phone, tears starting to form in his eyes, and Michael hates when that happens.
"no mike, your not doing this again do you understand? and besides, I found you a new therapist, so take a chill pill," Ashton laughed over the phone.
Michael took a deep breath and smiled, "okay, love you, I'll see you later."
"love you too," Ashton giggled.
luke looked at Michael, wanting to know what ashton said, and why Michael was on the break of tears. he knew he was better now by the smile plastered on his face, but he still felt he needed to know what they were talking about.
"I have to get ready for an appointment with my new therapist," Michael told luke.
"new therapist?" luke smiled, "that's great Mikey, maybe they'll help you instead of making you feel worse."
Michael nodded, "yeah, so are you gonna wait here till I return?"
luke shook his head, "I don't wanna go home b-but I mean...I have to straighten something out with my dad."
Michael bit the inside of his cheek, wanting to ask luke if he wanted to come, but he was nervous, and thought luke wouldn't care.
"what is it?" luke questioned Michael.
"I was wondering if you um, wanted to come with me? I'm not sure if my new therapist will allow you in yet but I want you to eventually," Michael said shyly.
luke nodded and kissed Michael's lips softly and short, "of coarse I would baby."
Michael smiled, "well I'm gonna go change, take a shower, and no you can not join this time," Michael and luke chuckled.
"okay, I'll just stay down here, talk to ashton if he's here before you're ready," luke kissed Michael's cheek.
luke waited in the living room till Michael was done, or till ashton arrived, looking at each framed photo. he smiled at each picture, admiring Michael. how happy he looked, how bright his eyes were. all these pictures seemed to express Michael in the past, none in the present.
Michael had different hair colors, and luke though they were all hot, though the cream color was his favorite. it made his green eyes pop, also his bright red lips and dark eyebrows.
Luke's favorite picture of ashton and Michael was a selfie, ashton was sticking his tongue out in the picture with crazy eyes while Michael was just laughing in the background, looking at him with glossy eyes. you could tell how much the two admire each other just by a picture.
luke gasped quietly when he felt a hand on his shoulder, "it's just me," Ashton laughed.
luke chuckled, "I guess I just got caught looking at these pictures."
Ashton smiled and nodded, "yeah I do too, a lot of times actually. this ones my favorite," Ashton handed luke a picture of Michael teaching ashton how to play guitar, well tune it mostly.
"I play drums, Michael was teaching me how to tune a guitar that day and let's just say I sucked."
luke laughed putting the picture back on the desk, "you and Michael are so close, this is a lot of pictures."
"yeah, known the kid since he was 14, been three years already?" Ashton chuckled, "I love him more than anything y'know? I'm so protective over him and sometimes I'm scared he'll ever leave again."
luke frowned, "what do you mean?"
"when Michael met Aden at 15, I was no longer in the picture, only when he was hurt. one day Michael picked Aden over me, I didn't speak for five months. it was the hardest five months of my life, I worried so much about him. it got harder to stay away from him, or protect him when one night I got a call from the hospital," Ashton said lowly, hoping Michael wouldn't hear by any chance.
"I don't know who Aden is? I mean Calum told me he was Michael's ex, he told me Aden hurt Michael and that's why the way he is now," luke spoke.
"part of it," Ashton replied, "Michael hates therapists, he hates leaving the house. I remember when he go out of the hospital he didn't leave my room for two months, that's when I had a one bedroom apartment. it was hard to get him to eat, it was hard to get him to do anything. I told him if he didn't get up he would never get better, so I brought him to a therapist, but I told him we were going out for pizza. I know what I did was horrible."
"what happened?" luke asked curiously.
"Michael broke down talking to that therapist, he trashed her room, screamed like he was being murderer, I could hear him all the way in the waiting room. everyone could hear his voice. his voice was so broken, and sad, weak, it's better now. at times. that day he didn't talk to me, the only words that came out of his mouth were I hate you, and that killed me on inside. it hurt me a lot, I thought he was gonna leave again."
luke patted Ashton's back, seeing how emotional he got talking about something that happen a while ago, "it's okay ash, I know he won't leave you again, he loves you too much. all he does is talk about you."
"Michael never deserved any of what he's experienced, God luke there's so much more, I've told you too much already. don't tell mike, I wanted him to tell you himself."
luke smiled and looked into Ashton's hazel eyes, "it's okay, I won't, but he will. he wants me to come to his first appointment, even if I can't be in the room with him right away."
Ashton suddenly hugged luke, "that is great, luke you're fixing him, something I haven't been able to do."
"but you have ashton, he just needs more than just you, he needs his old happy life back with friends and fun. not the dark past."
Ashton nodded, pulling away and thanking luke, he wouldn't know what Michael would be like if luke never appeared.
