"how could you?" Michael yelled at Luke, his voice sounded hurt, it was all shaky and muffled by the way he covered his face with his little sweater paws.
"no Michael please listen-"
"no! I fucking hate you Luke! this is the last time anyone will hurt me," Michael replied shortly.
"please," Luke cried, "please listen to me baby."
Michael shook his head and choked, his sobs were loud as his throat was closing, he felt like he couldn't breath. he was tired of crying, he was tired of getting hurt. he was done, for good.
"not anymore Luke, we're done."
Luke replayed the word done in his head over and over, it was like someone stabbed him right in the heart. he was hurting so bad, but he didn't feel what Michael was feeling. Michael was crushed- he couldn't focus as the tears flooded his eyes. he doesn't think he's heard words like that that hurt him so much. aden has never said anything that horrible, that he remembers. everything hurts, Michael just wants ashton.
Michael ran home, not caring if anyone saw the scars on his arms, he ignored the stares, bursting through his front door. ashton flinched at the sound, standing up quickly, being pummeled by Michael. his grip was tight as ashton felt Michael's tiny body shaking and slowly sinking to the ground. the two boys laid on the floor, Michael crying in Ashton's chest, ashton comforting him.
"Mikey please calm down," Ashton frowned, "I hate it when you cry the sound breaks my heart."
Michael whimpered, his high pitched sobs filled the house as a few tears began to fall down Ashton's face. he listened to Michael, while rubbing his back in little circles. they were in a tangled position on the floor, but they didn't mind, Michael sure didn't, he wanted no one else. Ashton's eyes began to travel all over Michael's arms, and all he could think was, this is all my fault.
even though it wasn't, Michael has just been going through so much. everything around him seems to be crashing, and he had no hope of becoming himself again. he feels like shit all the time, he only feels important to ashton. Michael understands he can't just rely on ashton for everything but he has no other coarse.
"Michael, you tired? you wanna sleep?"
Michael nodded, great full Ashton wasn't trying to ask him questions, or talk to him. he just wanted the comfort of ashton, he wanted to be warm, he didn't wanna talk about Luke anymore.
ashton picked up the light boy and carried him bridal style up to his room, Michael was already yawning in Ashton's chest, beginning to slowly fall asleep in Ashton's warm, protective arms. Ashton looked down at Michael with awe, ashton wishes he could have this forever with his best friend, but he wasn't sure. he knows Michael and him met for a reason, ashton will protect Michael forever.

Michael doesn't understand how he slept last night- he woke up with assurance he had no dreams, just a deep sleep but people say you dream every night. you just can't remember them. he wishes he could, maybe he had a great dream, and he doesn't even get to know.
Michael just laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling. what was on his mind? Luke. the blonde appeared in his mind and he wouldn't leave. the blonde hair, the bright blue eyes, the piercings and tattoos, his laugh even echoed in Michael's head. Luke knew something as perfect as him wouldn't last, but it felt great. yet he let someone in again, telling them everything about him, and his dark past, but they left like the last. and Michael thinks it will always be that way. how can he promise ashton he'll have a family? a perfect life? what if he doesn't make it?
