MY THOUGHTS WERE A jumbling mess. This couldn't be happening. Sensing my discomfort Alec asked me what was wrong but I brushed it off. I'd have to wait till we got to the palace to ask him. Arden and Dominic came running down from the hill ahead of us, Arden screaming "No Way!"
She jumps into his arms and they begin their own conversation. Dominic walks up beside me,
"What's wrong? I took a while to respond, not believing what I was about to say.
"I think Alec is an elemental wolf". He tried to make his face emotionless as possible but his eyes widened.
What? That's insane the -
"Hey are you guys ready to go?" I turn around and see Alec and Arden waiting for us. I'd have to ask my aunt and Xavier once we got back to the castle. They'd have more information. When we got back to the car I stayed in the backseat while Arden and Dom stayed in the front. I needed to relish these last few moments of normalcy before everything I knew was turned upside-down. Alec sat near the window and I laid on my head on his shoulder. I looked up to see him staring out the window. He was smiling and the Moonlight was shining on his face. I looked up as well to see not one cloud in the sky. Just the moon and the stars. I don't know when but I had taken a nap and was awakened by him softly tugging my arm. I tried to convince myself to let the incidents from before were just coincidences. The more I thought, the more I convinced myself I was right. I told Alec to go let his family know of the news while I took care of something. He reached forward and placed a kiss on my head and left jogging to catch up with Arden. I looked to Dominic dreading having this conversation.
As we began walking through the double doors of the palace Dom spoke, "I already told my father and your aunt to meet us in the Library. If this is true, we're gonna need to be informed as much as possible.
When we got to the Library, My aunt and Xavier had already picked out every book detailing elemental wolves. Some of the staff members came in with trays of dinner. I hadn't realized that the last time I had eaten was when we were all at the bakery. I thought back to when Alec and I were talking about Dom. He was jealous and after he had said something about Dom, the trash can near us went up in flames. I grabbed the nearest book by me, Lobos y Elementos. Wolves and The Elements. I began to read and began to write down every similarity between what the book listed and Alec. I was almost sure of it now, Alec was one. The book detailed many tells and signs,
A wolf who possesses the four elemental powers is given this power by birth. The offspring of two elemental wolves, springs another elemental wolf. The powers are not in full effect until the wolf meets its mate and is of age (24). It begins with physical problems like sweating, extreme strength, trouble sleeping. Then the outburst of power begins. This happens because of the extreme emotions one feels after meeting their mates. Being wolves, all emotions are heightened and harder to control.
I found myself feeling even more convinced as Alec was checking all of these boxes. My family finds other facts that lead me to believe I have enough information to tell Alec. I say my goodbyes and head to bed. Tomorrow I would have to tell Alec another secret about himself and I had no idea how he would take this. I finally feel myself falling into a comfortable slumber awaiting tomorrow's affairs.
~
This morning I woke up extra early and asked Alec to come eat breakfast with me near the patio. He looked so cute, his hair was a mess and going all over the place. When we sat down he let me eat first. It was customary to let the Alpha eat first and I told him there was no need for that. He nodded and reached over for the coffee and I felt his stare on me. I look up and he begins to laugh. I had taken a bite from my toast when I asked, "What's so funny ".
"Look at us, " he says observing, "It's crazy how the moon goddess paired us up. From just taking a glance at us, you'd think otherwise. The moon goddess really is instinctive".
He was right. If you saw us from a glance away, you'd see two different people. My hair was slicked into a high ponytail, not one hair out of place. Whereas Alec was letting his hair run freely, it was a cute fluffy mess. Granted I didn't give him time to even dress up but I didn't care. "Well, I knew from the moment we kissed none of that mattered. We were made for each other."
I could see he was getting coy so I moved on to something else. After we finished breakfast I told him that my Aunt and Xavier wanted to talk to him. He was nervous, thinking it had to do with us being mates. I reassured him they just wanted to chat. We were standing in front of the doors to the library when I heard him slowing getting more out of breath, his eyes even switching back and forth from yellow to green. I didn't think my family was intimidating but I guess he did. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it tight. My small action caused his breathing to calm down and his eyes returned back to the beautiful green they were.
When we walked in, everyone stopped talking and looked at us. He looked confused when he saw Arden there as well.
"What are you doing here? I thought you had training." She got up from her chair and approached us, "I did too. Beta Dominic told me I had to be here, in case something happened. So what's going on?"
Xavier spoke up as well, "We need to talk to you about something important and we figured you'd want your only family member here." Alec's family had gone back home yesterday.
Alec nodded and took a seat next to me. We both sat on the couch and my Aunt came forward,
"Alec, do you think there's a possibility you're an elemental wolf?"
