I WAS GLAD MY aunt had been the one to ask him. Xavier and Dom were a bit rougher and I didn't want them to suddenly trigger him. I noticed that when he experienced an intense emotion, the powers came out.
He didn't answer so my aunt pried again, "Faye told me about some stuff that happened yesterday. Last night we all met up to look up any possible information about this."
He grabbed the book Xavier handed him, "I'm just as clueless as you are. My pack back home was more focused on teaching fighting techniques than history".
I tried to open him up to the idea by asking, "Can you just read this one paragraph and tell me if any of it sounds familiar". He nodded and began reading where I pointed. I had him read the paragraph I had read last night.
Once he finished reading we all gave our attention to him. He sighs, "I can pretty much relate to everything in the book but one thing. My parents weren't whatever this is, I would have known".
Arden spoke up, "I don't know Alec. I mean think about it, our family took you in when you were five. How much could you possibly remember? Much less anything out of the ordinary, right? "
I got worried as soon as I saw the sun disappear into a forming dark mess of clouds. Alec's hand had now left mine and was gripping the couch, his knuckles turning a ghostly white.
My aunt was thinking, standing by the window when she asked, "What if we look into your biological parents. The palace has a record of every wolf, even more information of former Alphas. There's got to be something", and we all agreed.
I mind linked one of the council members to bring all files on the Price Alphas of the Alicante pack. A few minutes later, the council members brought us two boxes.
Everyone grabbed a file and began reading. When I opened the file I almost dropped it at the sight of my parent's names. There was a copy of a letter inside with the royal stamp on the top. The letter detailed something about providing Alec's family protection and sanctuary if they turned themselves in.
"Guys?", everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me, "The letter says my parents were willing to provide protection and sanctuary if Alec's parents surrendered themselves to the Lupine Pack."
I was immediately suspicious when both my Aunt and Xavier looked at each other, my aunt biting her lip and Xavier not breaking eye contact with her.
"What do you guys know about this?"
Both of them sat down at the table in front of us. First my Aunt spoke, "The week your parents died, they mentioned they would be taking a trip to the Alicante pack", I remembered this, they never made it back. "They were worried about some threat the witches had made. I don't know what they were threatening but they decided they would take them in and the entire pack in until it all died down. I was only 22 at the time, I was still in my training for my pack warrior test. I wasn't really included in the decisions yet". I nodded and looked to Xavier waiting for him to explain himself. He was my dad's beta, he knew more than he was letting on.
Sighing he started, "I had already separated from Kira. As you know, she's half-witch and half werewolf".
Alec was quite literally about to lose his mind. He turned around to face Dominic, "So you're 1/4 witch?"
He shrugged, "I don't know anything about magic. There's no point in letting people know." It wasn't exactly a secret, Dom had one blue eye while the other was brown. Most humans called it heterochromia, but in the supernatural world it went unnoticed unless you knew the person's biological background.

Xavier continued, "She was being forced to join the witches in killing the Alphas of the Alicante pack because they were found to have elemental powers. It was very serious. No wolf had been seen in more than 100 years that possessed these powers. The witches had no idea of their intentions and just how far they would go. Kira let your parents know about the attack the witches were planning". He turns to Alec, "She tried to warn them that the witches were planning to kill them if they didn't stop them. She tried to help but she was too late. Once they found out about her loyalty to the wolves, they stripped her of her powers".
I couldn't believe I knew nothing about this. My parents had tried to protect Alec's parents from what he is and died for it.
"What about Alec? Why didn't they kill him?" Arden questioned.
My aunt answered, "We knew there was a boy but once we found out Faye's parents had died, we went to recover their bodies and the boy but your family had already taken him in. We couldn't interfere there, he had already been initiated into the Shadowmoon pack".
I took in all the information that had just been laid out. I look over to see Alec looking torn up about the news of his family. He'd grown up thinking his parents were attacked by rogue wolves, not for being the very thing he is.
My aunt noticed Alec's troubled face, "Alec, being an elemental wolf is an extreme honor. Long ago when wolves were cursed to take the form of a human and wolf, the moon goddess blessed certain wolves with the four elements. She gave them the ability to form fires, manipulate air and water and help nature with their earth abilities. The witches having similar powers, were upset that they could do the same as them. They feared being overruled by more powerful wolves. They can try and get rid of people like you but you have to rise above. The moon goddess gave you these gifts for a reason, don't be ashamed. We're all going to help you figure this out".
I squeezed his hand in reassurance. Nothing was going to separate us now.
