LENNOX HAD KEPT HIS promise. Dominic and I found Alec in the tomb he said he'd be in. He wasn't injured, just knocked out cold. Dominic and I stayed inside waiting for him to regain consciousness. I looked around nervously, the tomb was so cold I could see my breath in the air. I was tapping my foot anxiously. My head was replaying those seven words over and over again. Find a way to bring me back.
"What aren't you telling me?" Dom's eyes narrowed and I shifted feeling his gaze on me.
"Now is not the time to keep secrets Faye. I know Nova said something to you before she left". He pointed his finger in my face. I pushed him away and huffed a piece of hair out of my face. "She..," I breathed in and out, "She told me to find a way to bring her back". I broke his gaze when I heard a loud gasp beside me.
Alec rises up and breathes heavily, "What the hell happened?" His eyes were glowing yellow. The full moon was out tonight and because he'd been unconscious his wolf took over in his vulnerable state of mind. He'd be able to take control again in a few minutes.
"Nova left with Lennox. Her joining him in and exchange for you." I paused trying to control my breathing. "She gave in to the dark magic". His eyes stayed on the ground. No one knew what to say, Nova had sacrificed herself for us.
Dom and I helped Alec get up from the floor. I dusted some dirt off his shoulders. He turns to me, "Well, what are we going to do to help her?" I smile knowing he had just woken up but he was already thinking of a way to get her back already. I told Dominic to make the arrangements for us to return home. We needed to start planning to bring Nova back. I feared what Kira's reaction would be to the bad news.

Six hours later and we were back in the Lupine Pack. It was hard having to tell Kira what had happened to Nova. The palace was quiet and her sobs filled the council room. She was devastated, Nova was like a daughter to her.
"How could I have let this happen?" I sat by her side assuring her this wasn't her fault, it was Lennox's. Her sobs quieted and she whispered, "I failed my sister. I promised her no harm would come to her daughter, but I allowed her into the lion's den". I stand up not willing to hear this anymore. Nova told me to find a way but I needed Kira's help to do that.
"Nova told me to find a way to bring her back, is it possible?" Kira stopped and stared at me. Realization hit her. She wiped the tears off her face."The only way to reverse dark magic is to place it in something. An object of value; for that you'd need a witch."
Kira explains in order to remove the dark magic from Nova, we would have to physically take it out of her body. She said to think of it has a hold on her. She'd act out of anger and rage instead of kindness and reason.
Alec asks, "What object can we use to place the dark magic she consumes?
Dominic stepped forward, "The necklace she always wears. She never takes it off, it's from her mother". Kira nods, "It's true, it holds enough value to her, but we still need a witch to perform the spell".
I sighed, "That's gonna be hard. All the witches are loyal to Lenox, they'd never help us".
Alec grins, "Not when we have the one witch that would never help Lennox". I catch onto what he's suggesting, Dom.
Dominic realizes as well, he steps back. "No!" He shakes his head in disbelief. "No way. There is no way humanly possible I'd be able to pull that off".
"Good thing you're not human".
He rolls his eyes, not finding this amusing. Kira steps forward, "You're not just a wolf Dominic, you know this." He stays quiet not uttering a word for a while.
His voice cracks, tears threatening to fall, "What If I can't do it? What if we don't get her back?"
Kiras brushes a tear that falls down his cheek, "I think you've forgotten how powerful I am. With my help, we will bring Nova back home".
"Then it's settled," Kira pats Dominic's cheek, "You're gonna learn magic just like your mama". Dom smiles clearly unsettled with the idea that Nova's return would be depending on him. No matter how long and how hard.
Alec and I stood by the fire he had lit to make a bonfire. It was a long day and he said something about wanting to relish in one more quiet moment before we had to face the shit storm coming. I couldn't agree more. We were silent for a while just listening to the fire crackle.
"I thought you had changed," I say breaking the silence. Alec's head snapped to look at me.
"You thought I changed? What do you mean?"
My brows furrow, "Dominic didn't tell you? Before Nova left with Lennox, he had fabricated some fake version of you. He tried to convince me that you were willing to give up your gifts in exchange for him bringing back our parents."
He smiled, "How did you know it wasn't me?"
I blush, "When you said you loved me, you had this look on your eye. It was different when you tried to convince me to let you leave with Lennox".
He brought me closer and leaned in for a kiss. The moonlight was shining bright and the fire was still crackling.
"You know, before I met you I always felt like something was missing, you know?" I nod remember feeling the exact same way. He sighs, "Faye Labonair, you are the fuel to my fire. I'd be lost without you. I love you".
The fire next to us if possible grew more powerful and held the hope that we'd be able to face anything thrown our way.
