It was the first day back in school after the winter break. Chase was surprisingly excited. Being home with his family that demanded so much from him was tiring, to say the least - and the irked expression on Chase's face proved it. However, he decided to set his annoyance aside for the day and just let himself have fun. After all, he deserved it.
Keeping a steady grip on the strap of his backpack, he dragged himself over to the lockers in a sloth-like manner. He proceeded to shove all of his unwanted books into his lockers, and after having done so, he turned around to make his way over to his classroom.
But, he was stopped by a familiar individual. Said individual gave Chase a wide smile - which concerned Chase only a little. How could someone be so radiant on the first day back to school?
"Chase, buddy!" the boy shrieked. "I missed you, how have you been?"
"Same old," Chase responded with a half-smile. "I missed you too, Tyler."
The individual, or Tyler, slung his arm around Chase's shoulder, pulling him closer to his side as a result.
"You're going to class, aren't you?"
Chase only nodded in response.
"Alright then, we'll go together," Tyler grinned.
And like that, the boys began making their way over to their classroom, catching up on everything they had missed all the while.
