Chase and Zero had fallen asleep on the couch together the night before. Chase awoke before Zero and grinned at the sight before him.
Zero had his face nuzzled against Chase's chest, and his hands were gripping onto Chase's shirt tightly - as if he were afraid to let go.
Chase had one of his arms under Zero's head as a makeshift cushion - because he was aware of how uncomfortable the couch was and didn't want Zero's sleep cycle to be disturbed. His other arm was placed around Zero's waist securely.
He moved his hand over to Zero's cheek and stroked it with his thumb comfortingly, the grin never leaving his face.
Following this, he leaned in as if he weren't in control of his body and placed a lingering kiss on Zero's lips.
He was still not used to this.
Zero was his boyfriend now.
Zero shifted in his sleep slightly and let out a soft groan - which made Chase freeze with the fear that he had awoken the male. Then, he let out a sigh of relief when he heard a soft snore escape Zero's lips.
Zero moved his hand over to Chase's upper arm in his sleep - and in the process, his sleeve rode up just a little bit.
Chase's eyes trailed down to his forearm and a wave of satisfaction washed over him at the sight.
The scars on Zero's forearm were beginning to clear up - and there were no signs of any new self-inflicted wounds.
He had kept his promise.
