day twenty-four -> part three.

Chase was incredibly taken aback. He sat, transfixed in his position for a moment - but it didn't take long before one of his hands found their way tangled in Zero's dark and incredibly soft locks, whilst his other hand wrapped itself securely around his torso in the fear that the latter would let go the moment his grip on him loosened.

Zero leaned his body against Chase's and wrapped both his arms around Chase's neck, holding onto him as tight as he could.

Chase's lips were chapped in comparison to Zero's, but the latter showed no signs of discomfort. Instead, he placed one of his hands on Chase's cheek and tilted his head just a little so as to deepen the kiss.

The kiss wasn't perfect. It was slightly sloppy and every now and then, their teeth would clash against each other - but neither of the boys complained.

Zero pulled away for a brief moment - just to press his forehead up against Chase's. The pair attempted to catch their breath, but before they could do so - they found themselves leaning in once again, and like that - their lips connected for the second time that day.

Zero's hands travelled down Chase's chest - and Chase's mind was in a state of panic. He couldn't comprehend what was going on in the slightest. His heart was hammering so loudly that he was sure Zero could hear it - and on top of that, the butterflies in his stomach were performing a series of acrobatic stunts.

And then, what he feared most happened.

Zero pushed Chase away like he had done the first time. He stared at Chase with wide, glossy eyes for a brief moment.

And then he took off.

Chase heard the door to his bedroom slam shut.

Still, he didn't say a word. He simply sat there, with his eyes still shut. Partly because he was trying to register the situation and partly because he was too afraid to open them.

Because if he would, he knew his heart would shatter from having been rejected for the second time.
