15. Rumors Confirmed

Ciara's POV

"You're home early" my mom said. Startled, I jumped because I didn't see her there. I hope she didn't think I was skipping school or something.

"Am I?" I asked, my heart beating a little fast. I was trying to prepare myself for my moms yelling incase she didn't know why I was home early. I get super anxious from it.

"I'm just messing with you!" my mom replied. "I know some mini fire broke out at school and students were sent home, nothing major."

I sighed in relief, I thought she was about to rip my head off. My mom takes school extremely serious.

"Hey there's a letter for you" my mom said, interrupting my thoughts; "From Nickelodeon."

I raised an eyebrow. I knew it couldn't be a check because those just go directly into my bank account, so what could it be?

I picked up the letter and opened it. "Congratulations, you've been nominated for best reoccurring role. You've been invited to the 2020 Kids' Choice Awards."

I literally screamed in excitement.

"Mom I got invited to the KCA's!" I said. "Wow, look at that, many doors are opening up for you sweetie" my mom responded.

I looked back at the letter and smiled for a minute. I wondered if it was my own acting that got me here, or my connection to Jace. Either way, I was okay with it.

I was just about to go upstairs when my mom called me back, this time not sounding as joyful she she did before.

"Uh Ciara, get your butt back here, now!" She said, the 'now' with emphasis.

In such a short period of time, I was thinking of every possible thing that could've happened.

"You slept with Jace on your birthday?" my mom asked me, with an eyebrow raised. I could literally feel a heartbeat in my ass.

"N-no, well yes, actually no, well not the way you think" I responded. I was visibly shaking at this point, I didn't want my mom to look at me differently, to rage at me, or to tell my dad.

My dad is in Canada for a year long business trip, but he never forgets stuff. I know he'll whoop me as soon as he gets back if he hears about this.

My thoughts were interrupted by my mom. "So you gonna tell me or what?" She asked me.

"We fell asleep in bathing suits, even though it looks like we're naked. But we're not naked, the covers were just too high up" I responded.

My mom stared at me for a bit, seeming to be processing what I said. "Okay I believe you" she said. "I know you're a good kid".

With that I jogged upstairs and locked my door. What a day it's been already.

Kyla's POV

I was walking in circles in my bedroom for about 10 minutes after getting home. Then finally, I figured out what I wanted to say to Jace.

"Hey Jace, this is Kyla, Ciara's best friend. Remember me from the hotel party?" I texted him.

He replied almost instantly, now I see why Ciara likes him so much.

"Yeah I remember you, what's up?" was Jace's response. So now I had to think of how I was going to say this.

"So you know how there's a rumor that you and Ciara slept together?" I replied back.

"Yeah, what about it?" Jace asked.

"I was thinking maybe we could have Ciara confirm it? I know you probably think that's crazy but it'll give her more publicity, and it'll get everyone to shut up about the Leslye situation" I responded.

"I don't know Kyla. I mean personally I wouldn't really mind but Ciara might get some heat for sleeping with the star of the show. People will say she only did it for more publicity."

I cut Jace off. "People will only say that if you guys just slept together. If you guys slept together but are together for a while nobody will say that. Especially if Ciara continues acting elsewhere."

"You might have a point" Jace replied "but aside from that, Ciara is also seventeen. I'm eighteen, it's different. Any sex scandal about me, and critics will say 'oh he's an adult, it doesn't matter'. Any about Ciara and they'll say 'gross, why is an underaged kid having sex'".

"You really think they'll do that?" I asked Jace.

"Maybe, maybe not. The celebrity world is bipolar. They bully some and spare others."

"Okay, but honestly it doesn't matter. Ciara isn't a social media fiend. She wouldn't pay attention to that stuff anyways."

"That's believable from what I've seen about her" Jace said. "You also need to realize that her and I sleeping together will also trigger our producers. They'll either give us more scenes together, or no more scenes together."

"Yikes, that's a lot of risks" I said. "Let's make a group chat and add Ciara to the chat."

"Okay, sure."

Ciara's POV

I was getting ready to head downstairs for dinner when my phone lit up with a good eight or nine texts from both Jace and Kyla. I scanned through the texts, and read enough to know that it was about the rumor.

Jace seemed to be okay with us confirming it. However, he warned me about the many risks of it, and said if I wasn't okay with it, we did not have to confirm it.

After weighing out the pros and cons, I realized it might be a pivotal step in my career. Plus, it'll get me closer to Jace romantically.

"Okay so on the count of three we're going to confirm it on Twitter. Then we're going to shut off our phones for the night" Jace said.

Fear and excitement filled my body, but I was ready. I couldn't believe I was about to tell the whole world that Jace Norman and I slept together, and he was about to do the same with me.

"1...2...3"

"Yes it's true, Jace and I slept together at my birthday bash last week."

And with that, I turned my phone off and fell asleep.
