"You ready?" I hear Isa from the door of my bedroom.

I turn to her straightening my dress and shake my head. "Don't think I will ever be ready for this."

Isa nods understanding and takes a seat on my bed lightly tapping the spot beside her. I throw myself down leaning my head on her shoulder relieving myself of the nerves frantically swimming in my body.

"It will never get easier but with time it will hurt a little less and you will learn to cherish what you have left of her rather than mourn what time you wish you'd had.

I look to her unknowing of how she makes this seem so easy. "How do you do it?" I whisper playing with the seam of my dress.

She shrugs not quite knowing what to say. "Take it one day at a time, and it helps to have my best friends around to help me when I need it."

"Damn right you do." Our heads snap to Gale as he leans on the door with Rhea by his side cuddling up to him. "Now that you all look lovely, are we ready?"

Rhea perks up clapping her hands. "As we will ever be. Now come on."

We head out to the car and load up. Silence rains over us like a storm. Deadly with each impending second it takes us to get to our destination.

My thoughts drift back to yesterday. I liked spending time with Blaze and our movie session proved that. He's already becoming comfortable with my presence and I'm allowing this as more than just a temporary fix. For now.

I'm not going to lie, after he left, I did have to release myself. I don't know what it is...well, I do, but I wish I could ignore the nagging part of me that wants to get to know him as more than just a fuck. I'm not meant for relationships whether that be friendship or more, but I can't help but wish I was at times. It's fucked up but it's my life and I can't expect any less.

"Lizzy."

I hear my name, but I can't seem to make myself respond, it's like my mind is frozen. With my brain running ramped, responding is the least of my worries.

"Blitz."

"Huh." My head snaps to Isa and she holds her hand out for me to take.

She nods her head to the house in front of us and I take a deep breath before taking her hand. "We will be with you the whole time."

We walk to the front door, my hand clasped around Isabel's in a death grip. I know they invited us, but it doesn't make it any less scary. It's been a while since I've seen my parents and I don't want to make it any harder on them, especially not today of all days.

I can hear my parents' voices as I walk into the house. I take a breath stepping into the living room and all conversation stops. My eyes float around examining the house I used to call home. The large walls filled with family portraits and the heavy chandelier lighting the house as it always has.

I can feel eyes bore into my skin before I even get the courage to look up.

"Sweet girl."

"Hi, momma." Tears fall from her eyes as she cups my face in the palm of her hands and pulls me into a hug.

Giana Stone. My mother and at times, my worst enemy. I love her to death but our personalities clash leaving us at war half of the time. Unlike my sister, I get my looks from my dad whereas my mom and sister match in their pale complexion and light brown hair. I will say I missed this; the sweet part of our relationship that involves love more than anything else.
