To say I was surprised to see Blitz when that door opened would be an understatement. I was already nervous and adding Blitz to an already anxiety-ridden equation could be potentially explosive.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Marcus." Her father holds out his hand for me to shake and I take it. "Why don't you go to the table while the ladies get the food." I nod and turn back as he wanders off.

"Alright move it old man. I call the corner." The blonde calls. I recognize him from yesterday in Blitz's room. Gale, I think his name was if I remember correctly.

I see Blane walk up and save me from speaking. "Perk up. Free food and try to talk tonight. You want to date their daughter, well man up, and show him why he should like you."

"Who said anything about dating?" I question.

Gale laughs and gives a shake of his head. "Come on man. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Don't worry though, she won't fight you," He laughs. "Too much."

I'm not sure how reassuring that statement is as much as it seems a little frightening.

"Name's Gale. Sorry about yesterday, Rhea tends to get a little excited."

I shake my head and wave it off. Other than making me nervous there wasn't any physical harm done. "It's alright."

"You don't really talk much do you?" Gale chuckles.

I shake my head and scour the kitchen looking anywhere but where I should be looking. "That obvious?"

"Too many people here to notice but you are the guest of honor. They are nice, just watch out for Giana. She can be a bit-" Gale pauses a moment squinting his eyes as he searches for the right words. "She's a handful and then some."

I look at him quizzically not sure who this is he speaks of and he just laughs, pointing to the older women beside Blitz. I can see a resemblance between the two. Well, the hair is the same, but they are wearing mirroring facial expressions as they stand together.

Almost as if she could feel my eyes on her. Blitz turns back to me with a small smile on her lips before winking at me and continuing with her original task.

My face heats up and I turn back to Gale who tilts his head at me and slaps my shoulder. "See, that never happens. You my friend are in for a wild ride."

I sit at the table with Blane to my left and Blitz to my right. Conversations are flowing in all directions but thankfully Blane takes to answering any question pointed at us.

It's been a while since I've been to a dinner with more than just my brother. I'm used to lounging on the couch with take-out and some crappy show playing. Times like this are what make me miss having a family. Yes, I have Blane but it's not the same. We are closer than ever since the passing of our parents, but I can't help but feel a part of me is still missing.

There is no doubt that he is one of the most important people in my life but there is a void stricken with loneliness that I can never seem to mend.

"So, how have you boys been? I can't imagine it's been easy." I look up to see the woman I now know as Giana speaking directly towards us with her eyes studying closely as she waits for an answer.

"We've been fine," Blane speaks up. "Just taking it one day at a time."

Giana's eyes leave Blane and my breathing heightens as she directs her attention at me. "What about you Blaze?"
