My heart drops and I look over to see Blaze as still as a statue. This is why it's hard. Not everyone has the same beliefs and I don't want that judgment for how I choose to live my life. I've heard plenty of lectures regarding my "whorish" ways and they always end the same way. Me getting into it with some stranger who just can't seem to realize that my life is my own. If I wanted opinions and judgment, I would damn well ask for them.

"We use each other." I say honestly not knowing any other way to put it. "Sex means nothing to me without feelings, it's a mutual partnership for the sole matter of pleasure and every person I've been with knows what I want. One night."

Blaze nods his head piercing his lips. "Doesn't that ever get tiring?" I laugh lowly but let him finish. "Just giving your body away for a few minutes of a high that will never truly satisfy you."

"I..." I don't know what to say. I feel like he's doing exactly what I didn't want. I know it's fucked up but that's life. "A few minutes is better than none." I respond leaving it at that as I turn my head and wipe the stray tear as we pull up to our destination.

Looking out I see trees spanning for miles that lead into a path easily seen to be towards a cliff. I step out of the car with newfound excitement and relish the view in front of me. A few paths off to the side, trails leading to places I can only imagine and adventures I'd love to explore. The wind nips at my skin settling my body as the sun beats down warming what was once a cool body. I float away completely from my previous thoughts as the birds sing amongst the trees and squirrels run past roaming the forest floor freely.

I inhale a breath pulling in the clean air closing my eyes and smile. "It's beautiful." I whisper at a loss for words on how else to describe the view in front of me.

"It is." I turn back and see Blaze's eyes pointed at me as he speaks. As cliché as it is, I'm happy in this moment. Even though we have this gorgeous view to stare at, his eyes can't seem to leave mine and that alone causes my heart to skip a beat.

I squint my eyes and turn back around. "Why did you bring me here?"

A hand folds around mine and I gaze down as he slips his fingers through mine pulling me down the open path. I grip his arm holding him as we walk. I can't help but search the horizon as we come up to the edge of the cliff where a bench sits.

I look closer and see words decorating the wood. More than that I see names, hundreds if not more carved across every space of the wood but one, in particular, catches my eye as I scan it over.

"They say it's good luck to carve your name in it." Blaze bends down running his thumb over his name. "I came here after I lost my parents hoping maybe after all of the loss I suffered something good would come out of it."

"Did it?" I question curiously looking over to Blaze.

He pulls a knife from his pocket uncovering the blade. "I don't know yet." He tugs my hand upward and opens my palm placing the handle down. "But maybe you will have better luck."

Staring at the knife I hold it at arm's length as Blaze releases it. I pull it to me running the pad of my thumb over the wooden handle. Its design catching my eye as a phoenix decorates the front and Blaze's initials claim the back. A smile lifts at my lips as I envision Blaze as being the rising Phoenix.

"It's beautiful" Kneeling down I kiss the handle and run my fingers over the names on the bench. I find Blaze and place the knife right under the B of his name and carve an L. There is just enough space under his name that is placed horizontally in a corner, so I carve directly under the B vertically, blowing away the wood specks after each letter I carve.

I bite my bottom lip in concentration feeling the wind seep into my mouth drying it until finally, I'm done. I sit down the knife and stand as I look over to Blaze. He smiles softly picking up the knife and taking a seat on the bench.

I join him folding my hands in my lap and lay my head on his shoulder nudging him with my nose as I take a deep breath breathing him in. Amberwood, it's enticing and addictive the more I smell it. The longer I sit with Blaze the stronger his scent grows, and I look out at the view, wondering what I did that brought me here.

The tree line below the cliff spans for miles and a small stream is placed directly in the middle running through the vast forest. The sound of splashing water can be heard almost like a whisper at the highest point if you focus enough.

"I don't care." Blaze interrupts my thoughts and I glance at him in question. He lays his forehead against mine nuzzling my nose. "You are perfect just the way you are."

His confident response is alluring, and I tilt my head meeting his eyes. "How do you know?"

"I don't, that's just my opinion." He smiles at me and kisses my lips. A strong wind hits us sending shivers down my spine and I pull Blaze closer basking in the warmth of his touch. Unlike our previous kisses, this one is slow and gentle allowing our lips to move in perfect harmony.

His tongue swipes along my bottom lip and I laugh into the kiss not giving in. A hand to my thigh presses firmly followed by a slight pinch that takes my breath away and my mouth falls open as I moan allowing Blaze entrance as he slips his tongue in delving into his desire. All I could focus on was the feel of his lips, every emotion he's feeling being put into this feverish kiss only to be torn apart as I open my eyes and feel a kiss to my head.

I break away looking at Blaze as he stares down at my lips. Maybe one day I will muster up the courage to tell him that he may not have been my first partner, but he will forever hold my first kiss. Although sex was always a must, I never felt comfortable kissing Jace or any of my other quests for that matter. I felt it would be too intimate much to my surprise the first time I turned Jace down and it became the one part of me I was okay with saving.

I hold no shame for how I live my life and what I do with my body, but I just couldn't allow myself to cross that boundary with anyone. It wasn't until I met Blaze that I felt sure enough to give in.

"Blaze?" I whisper pushing my chest into his. He hums in response and I lean up kissing a trail down his jaw slowly. "I. Want. You." I say separating each word with a kiss.

He gulps pausing as he tilts his head towards the sky pulling in a ragged breath. "Want?"

"Yes, Blaze. Want."

I slide my leg over his thigh and pull myself to straddle him. His tense body is stiff as a board as he sits under me staring down the front of my body. His eyes rake over my chest as his hands sit frozen, hovering above my waist and I can see internal battling going on as he decides whether to touch me or not.

Taking the initiative, I take his hands placing them around me until laying in the middle of my back grazing just above my bottom. Adjusting myself I tighten his grip pulling the hem of my dress up, so my core is directly in line with his.

He lets out a loud hoarse grunt as I move to my own accord riding his erection that's tight against his jeans just aching to be freed. "Tell me you want it." My muffled voice whispers as I wrap my arms around his neck burying my face into his shoulder the harder, I grind my hips.

Blaze lets out a choked moan as he slowly begins moving with me trailing his hands back and forth under the dress warming my flesh as his temperature rises.

"I-I want..." I hum pulling at the back of his hair and nibble his ear finally receiving an audible string of words that shoots my core into high drive.

"I need you."
