A week passed in a daze.Xander and Anastasia got into polite conversation whenever they ran into each other.Either of them did not mention the night near the pool.Sometimes she wonder she was dreaming the whole thing.Though they spoke to each other cordially there was always a presence of a huge elephant.Both of them tread cautiously and prevented venturing into unchartered territory.
"Good morning Ana.How are you feeling this morning?"Katherine asked politely. "Good morning to you too.I am feeling much better." Anastasia smiled warmly at Katherine.Katherine was the epitome of mother figure.Somehow Anastasia couldn't relate to any mother figure in her own life.Yes,she was remembering bits and pieces of her previous life.She didn't remember her parents.But a distinct figure always haunted her dreams and sometimes she could even make out faces in her mind.Her mind was like a slideshow where one after the other pictures would come and go.Each picture was different than the other.
Initially she thought it was her traumatic brain playing games with her,but when she was continously receiving such flashes of her memory.She consulted the doctor and thereby the doctors confirmed that she is regaining her memories and soon she would recall everything.
"What would you like to eat today?"Katherine interposed between her thought process. "I'm craving for pancakes Katherine." "Sure,I'll ask Stephano to cook it for you." "No,no I want to cook something on my own.Besides I am bored.There's not much for me to do anyway."Anastasia whined like a kid making Katherine chuckled. "Alright but I'll help you." "Deal."Anastasia replied chirpily. Anastasia grinned at Katherine. She happily chatted away with Daphne and Katherine.
Together they set the tables.All of a sudden both the women went silent. "Sure Daphne you have a way for everything." She replied goofily. "Why are you people so quiet?"She noticed both of them were looking behind her. Someone cleared his throat making her jump. "Xaanderr.." .She said breathlessly.Her right hand clutching her heart. "You scared the hell out of me." Xander shrugged playfully.His eyes were didn't hold any coldness.The grey orb looked vibrant and jovial.
"Mr.King would you like some pancakes?" "Sure Katherine." With that both Daphne and Katherine left Anastasia to fend for herself in front of Xander. "You are going to stand there the whole day or would you eat your breakfast?"Xander asked teasingly. "Uhmm.."Anastasia blushed.Wow someone is in a good mood.She wondered.
Katherine served them pancakes, bacon both made by Anastasia and poured orange juice for Xander "This is delicious Katherine.Stephano surely is the best.Choco chip pancakes are my favourite.Remind me to give him a raise."
"Uhmm actually Mr.King these pancakes are made by Ms.Anastasia." Xander seemed surprised.He looked at Anastasia and gave her a small smile.
"Its very tasty.But why did you take the pain?" "It's no pain.I'm bored anyway.So I thought of exploring my culinary skills." "Sure,sure."Xander replied distractedly. Anastasia beamed at him.She realised this was the first real conversation between them after that night.
They ate in silence.Xander stood up, buttoned up his grey suit and walked outside the door.Before reaching the door he turned and addressed to Anastasia in his business like tone.
"There is a charitable ball tomorrow.You are coming with me as my plus one.If you need any help with the dresses I've asked Rosa to help you out."He turned around to see his sister standing on the door with her hands on her hips. She scowled at him. "Xanderrr...Why you beast?Is this a way to talk to your wife?Instead of asking,you demanded like your own great self." Anastasia stepped between the two and hugged Roxanna. "Hey,Rosa." "Hello sister.I've missed you so much." Both of them air kissed and grinned at each other fondly.Xander tried to sneak outside but Roxanna held his arm. "No you don't." "Rosaa..I'm getting late for my meeting." "First ask Ana properly." Xander clenched his jaw. "Its fine,Rosa."Anastasia intervened. "Xander already asked me this morning."
"Why do I think you're lying Ana?"Roxanna narrowed her eyes at her. "I'm not lying."Anastasia said confidently. Anastasia gave Xander a look of I save your ass. Xander rolled his eyes playfully. "Ladies I'm leaving.Rosa help Sia out pleasee." He kissed Roxanna's forehead and then pecked Anastasia's cheek making her blush. "Cute.."Roxanna gushed.
The moment Xander left.Roxanna nudged Anastasia to get ready. "I'm taking a day off from my work.Let's hit the city Ana."She hollered. Anastasia loved Roxanna's lively nature.This girl could compete the devil himself with her mischievousness. Anastasia quickly threw over a skinny jeans and a tank top.She put on a little mascara on her eyes,pink gloss to her lips and put her hair in a ponytail.
Together they hit the road.Roxanna had a pink Lamborghini Aventador.Anastasia made googly eyes on the car. "Xander's birthday gift."Roxanna informed grinning at her. They slid inside the car.It was beautiful. "I've seen this car somewhere on TV." "Nicky Minaj has the same car.Does it ring any bell?" "I think so."

"You know how the Kings' totally believe in Go big or go home."She rolled her eyes playfully but maintain a sweet smile on her face.Clearly Roxanna adored her family and vice versa.
Roxanna geared up the car and the engine purred up to life.This ride is going to be interesting.
