Chapter - 15

"I am Anastasia King..Xander King's wife."
"Oh yeah, and I am Barack Obama."The head of the security chief snarled at Anastasia.
"Would you please call in the front desk and enquire? Mr.Xavier King must be expecting me."
"I need you to leave the premises before I coerce you myself miss."The security chief warned.
Anastasia realised arguing with him was fruitless.She paced back and forth and kept calling Xavier.Suddenly the front door opened and out came the mighty Xander.Anastasia drew in her breath.Xander King was a sight to behold.He walked towards his limo with quick strides.

"Hey,Xander.."
"Miss I said backoff."
And then just like that Xander's eyes met hers.They stared at each other for a while.
"I am sorry sir.This woman is claiming to be your wife."
The security chief roughly pushed her backward.Anastasia staggered back ready to kiss the ground and out of nowhere firm hands slid around her hips and pulled her towards a hard body.
"Are you hurt?"He whispered softly.
She breathed heavily and shook her head.

His concerned suddenly turned into anger.But this expression was not directed towards her.He turned around and shouted at the chief security whose face was now pale.
"You're fired."Xander barked at the chief security who was sweating profusely.

"This is my wife.Mrs Anastasia Xander King."He pointed towards Anastasia."No one dare mistreat her.Am I clear?"He spoked angrily.
Anastasia's heart was soaring from indescribable emotion.

A collective 'yes' was heard from the small crowd of people at Xander's disposal.
"I'm sorry Sir.I didn't know she is Mrs King.I'm extremely sorry ma'am."
"Don't..."
Anastasia put her hands on Xander's arm and squeezed it gently.
"He was only doing his duty.Please do not fire him for my sake,please."Anastasia said in a low and kind voice.
Xander looked at her intently.His expression giving nothing.
"Last chance."He pointed towards the security .
"Thank you sir,thank you ma'am.I'm extremely sorry for my behaviour."
"Its alright."
Xander held her arms and gently tugged her inside the large building of the King's Enterprise.
Entering the lobby area,she noticed the environment becoming silent.All eyes were on them.This was nothing new to her now.

He guided her inside the elevator.Just as the door of the private elevator shut.Xander caged Anastasia between his body and the wall of the elevator.
"What are you doing here?"His eyes held hers.
"I..uh..I..Xander.."Anastasia breathed.
"Stop mumbling."Xander whispered.Now his eyes were trained on her lips.
He closed the distance and smashed his lips on her.This was the most gentle kiss she experienced from Xander.Her one hand cling to the lapels of his suit.While her other hand reached his hair.

Their intimate encounter came to a halt just when the elevator doors open.Both of their appearances were dishevelled.
Outside the elevator Xavier came running towards them.
"I'm so sorry Ana..I forgot to mention your name on the visitors list.And my phone was silent.."He said in one breath.
"Its okay".Anastasia was looking down at the ground
"I heard Xander,the knight in shining suit came to your rescue?"
Anastasia's face was red.She tilted her face upward to say something when Xavier cut him off.
"Woah..Sorry what'd I miss?
Xander and Ana inside the elevator sucking their faces?Who would have
thought?"Xavier's eyes danced with amusement.He was trying very hard to control his laughter.
"Xav.." Xander warned him through gritted teeth.
"No need to go all hulk on me.I'm glad both of you solved your differences.I could feel the tension on the breakfast table."
"Care to explain me what is Sia doing in our office?"Xander demanded loftily.
"Aah,about that?She is going to work in our office."
"And who hired her?"Xander asked skeptically.
"Surely brother,I did.She is my personal assistant."
"Your Personal Assistant?"
"Did I say that in chinese?"Xavier cocked an eyebrow at his brother.
"But why the hell,was I not informed about it?"
"Because we wanted to surprise you.Ana is bored throughout the day.That's why I offered her this job.Besides she has an economics degree.That can definitely come handy in our business."
"Economics degree?And from where did you pull up this information?"
Now Xavier seemed confused.
"You didn't tell him?"
"Tell me what exactly?"
"Uhmm,that her memories are returning.And the other day she remembered taking economics major in her college."
Xander looked at both of them and dashed inside his office without saying a word.
"Boy,is he angry."Xavier muttered.
"Why didnt you tell him?"
"Umm..we were having a disagreement.I forgot to relay him this information."
"For a very smart girl,you surely are naive sometimes Ana."
"Remember I told you,we King's men have little tolerance towards our overpossesive nature."
"You mean overbearing,pompous and upright rude nature?"
"And that..yeah."
"Xander must be pissed hearing I knew about your memories coming back and he hasn't got the slightest clue.You've made your bed now you lay on it.It's between you and your husband.I'm waiting in my own office.Its on the other side.
Firstly talk to your hubby then come to me.I'll give you a tour to our office and introduce you to our staff.
Sounds good?"
"Yes..Thank you for giving me this opportunity."
"Welcome to King's Enterprise."He shook his hand fomally with Ana before leaving for his office.
Taking a deep breath Anastasia knocked on Xander's office.
A rich,timbre voice replied.
"Come in."
She entered his office.Just like his room,his office decor was completely black,the difference being only for the walls.It was painted in light grey hues just like Xander's stormy eyes.Xander sat on his chair and appeared like a real King,ruling his kingdom with an iron sceptre.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
Xander signalled her to wait.
"Reschedule my Thomson's meeting.I'm in a middle of something hence I could not attend the meeting now."
The person on the other end said something which made Xander agitated.
"Then improvise..I do not pay you for lame excuses."
He hung up the phone and looked at Anastasia.
He scrutinised her from top to heels.
"How can I help you?"His voice boomed inside the empty office.Taking a deep breath,Anastasia replied.
"Listen I know I should have told you before,that I'm remembering bits and pieces of my life.I'm not yet sure whether I'm actually regaining my memories or is it just hallucination?All I know is that being my husband you are entitled to know about my whereabouts.And I'm sorry if I made you feel bad."
There was complete silence.
"Are you done?"
Anastasia nodded.
"Now listen up Sia,since my brother has already hired you without looking up your credential.I.."
It was as if he was choosing his words.
"I'm going to be complete honest with you.Just because you have a King's title attach to your name doesn't give you the rights to do anything here.I expect full dedication."
Anastasia was ready for a comeback for judging her so soon.But she decided otherwise.
"You won't regret this Xander."
"Mr.King."
"Huh?"
"You will address me as Mr.King.Clear?"
"Crystal."
She gave him a reassuring nod and made her way outside his office.
She gave a sigh of relief.Xander was the most confusing man on this earth.She has to keep her head straight to keep her job..
