Chapter - 14

She woke early in the morning.
She looked up and he was still sleeping.She stared as the sunlit hit his face.

She thought...Lucifer was actually an angel before he was thrown in hell and declared the devil.

She groaned in pain because of sleeping on the floor all night.She got up and tip toed out his room.Like a shadow she reached her room quietly.
Once inside the washroom,she hit the shower and loved the hot water cascading her back.Soothing all her sore muscles from last night.She rubbed herself and don in her casual dress.

She went to the kitchen and prepared breakfast for everyone.Meanwhile Daphne joined her.Anastasia prepared pancakes,sandwiches and decorated it with sliced fruits.Daphne poured orange juice and served everything in the dining room.

Ever so puctual,Xander joined the breakfast room.His dimenour stiff,his face scowling.

Anastasia sat quietly at the other end of the dining hall.Xander kept his gaze fixed on the newspaper as if it contained the most important news.He was avoiding her,she could tell.She was angry at him for treating her like shit but more than that she was sad.
After a while both Xavier and Roxanna joined.
"I swear I'm never going to drink this much."
"What made you drink in the first place lil sister?"
"Ugghh..I think I'm gonna sleep in today."Roxanna groaned palming her forehead.
"You're more than welcome here Rosa.This is your house as well." Xander interposed.
"I don't want to intrude your privacy Xander.Though I think I'll take up your offer today.My head is pounding..uggh ugh."
"Here take this..You'll feel better Rosa."
Anastasia handed her a painkiller and orange juice.

"These pancakes are heaven.How many talents do you hide up your sleeves?"
Xavier teased Anastasia.
"My parents had their own restaurant.My mother loved to cook.She taught me...Uhhmm?"Her eyes widened.Now all eyes were on her.

"This is good news Ana..Your memories returning."
Anastasia smiled but her mind was filled with enough flashes from her past.
A very beautiful woman was talking to a young girl.
"Its completely fine dear,this was your first time.I'm pretty sure you'll do it wonderfully next time."
"Are you sure mommy?"
"Yes my child.You will."

"Earth to Ana."Xavier's word brought her back from her daydreaming.
"Hey you alright Ana?"Roxanna questioned kindly.
"Yes,I'm fine,sorry.."
"Its alright Ana.You of all people should not say sorry to me.Suffice to say we have crossed that path of formality."
Anastasia smiled at Xavier.He was always supporting her.

"We should go.Our foreign delegates just arrived."
Xav,you ready?Or you want to indulge in more chit chat?"Xander asked harshly.
"Dude chill,what got your panties on a bunch huh?"

Anastasia went quiet, for the rest of the breakfast period,while the brothers discussed business.

"You people are no fun.I'm calling it a day.
Bye Xander,bye Xav.Have a nice day both of you losers."
This made everyone smile.
"Love you sissy."Both the brothers said in unison.

Roxanna made her way to the kitchen.Anastasia quickly followed her inside.She was eager to confront her sister-in-law.

"So...Jason's date was very beautiful.Was she not Rosa?"She noticed Roxanna becoming stiff.
"Uhmm..yes."Roxanna gulped loudly.

"Is there something amiss Rosa?"Anastasia knew she was treading on thin ice.Yet more than curious she was concern for her.In a very little time Roxanna has become quite attached to her.
"What are you talking about?"Roxanna enquired.She miserably failed to keep her straight face.
Unlike the king's men,Roxanna's face was like a mirror.
"Look at me Rosa.I'm not going to beat around the bush.Do you like Jason?"
"No.."Roxanna replied quickly,actually too quickly.
"Evade all you want but I noticed the daggers you were shooting at his date."
"You must be wrong."Roxanna said accusingly.
Quickly changing her tactics,Anastasia replied.
"Aah,right.Not that it's any of my business.But I heard Jason talking about you."
"About me?What did he say?"
"Naa..nothing important.Come, the guys must be wondering why are we taking so long."
"Ana..wait."
"Yes."
"Okay,you got me."
"Annndd..?"
"Yes,I like Jason okay?I had this stupid crush on him since God knows.But he treats me as his bestfriend kid sister."
Anastasia narrowed her eyes.
"Yesterday he brought a date.I know he and my brothers,I mean brother.Now,that Xander is married.They all are the biggest manwhore alive.I want him to notice me as a girl.
Is that too much to ask?"
"Ofcourse not sweetheart.You are beautiful,infact you are the most amazing person.Not just your beauty attracts a person.But you are a strong independent woman."

"You always say such wonderful things to me.Why can't boys notice that?I mean I'm confident alright.But only when it comes to Jason.I lose all my sanity."
"You have it bad for him don't you?"
"Only a little."She gestured with her fingers.
"Then why don't you approach him?I mean this the 21st century.We girls should stand up for our own."
"You're right.But what if..."
"Save the what if."Anastasia gestured her palm in the air.
"It's time for you to show who you really are.And that's what you are going to do."
"I can actually see the wheels on that head turning.Care to elaborate your grand plan?"

"In time..patience my sweet one."
"I didn't know you were such a schemer."
Both chuckled at that.
"Wow..both of you are having a gala time.May I join you ladies?"
"God..Xav you scared us."
"Why is there are secret I should know?"
"Only some girl talk."Anastasia quickly replied.
"Okay,Will take your word for that.By the way Ana, you ready?"
"Ready for what?"Roxanna asked bewildered.
"Her big day."
"Huh?"
"Ok,cut it you two.I am.."
"No,no,no.Surprise,surprise.Hey Rosa where is the fun in that?
You'll see for yourself.For now my dear sister you should beat that hangover of yours.And Ana we're getting late."

"Sure."Anastasia's eyes sparkled with happiness.
"See you later.Our convo isn't finish sis-in-law."
"You're speaking like Xav.Have you heard his lingo?"
"Says the girl who cuss like a sailor."
"Whatever."
"Ugghh..not again!!"
Anastasia held Xavier's arm and dragged him outside the kitchen.While Roxanna made a beeline for upstairs.

Outside they came across a very fuming Xander.His eyes were shooting daggers where Anastasia held Xavier's arm.
"You madam get started.Go!We're getting late."
"Woah,woah I'm going."Anastasia and Roxanna huffed and left both the brothers in the drawing room.
"And where are you two going?Should I even know?"
"Nope."
"Xavier...."Xander said through clenched teeth.
"You'll know big brother."Xavier grinned devilishly.
