Chapter- 8

No sooner they stepped inside Roxanna's boutique, she was tightly embraced by Leo.
"Its so good to see you.What took you people so long?"Leo asked them.
"Good morning to you too Christi."Roxanna replied chirpily.

Like before Anastasia was stunned to see Leo.He was beautiful,not the rugged beauty like the King brothers.But a boyish charm that could enthrall any onlooker.His eyes was blue as the ocean.
"Yeah,I know I get that a lot."Leo bats his seductively bringing her out of her daydreaming.Anastasia's face became red as tomato.
"Relax I'm teasing you."
"You guys coming or what?"Roxanna called out rummaging through the rack of her exquisite designer clothes.

Anastasia noticed the boutique to be empty.
"Just so you know,we are closed today.Today is our day off.After your dress fitting we have a lot to do."Roxanna informed, handing a beautiful dress to Anastasia.
"And what is that exactly?"
"You'll see."
Anastasia rolled her eyes.
"I know what you are thinking Ana.Trust Roxanna to be a shady friend."
Roxanna hit Leo on his head.
"Oww watch it."
"Serves you right."
"Meanie."
"Huh.."
There cute bantering continued....
One after the other Anastasia tried different clothes.Finally she decided a beautiful off shoulder gown.
"Woah you look stunning.If only I was interested in the likes of you."Leo said wistfully.
Roxanna laughed outrightly.
"Yeah,yeah drama queen."
"By the way how is Xander?"
"Umm he is good."Anastasia replied shyly.
"Aww aren't you adorable."Roxanna teased.

"Actually my question is how is the beast in the sack?He is called the beast afterall."
Anastasia's eyes widened at Leonard's insinuation.
"Eew...TMI please.That's my brother you are talking about Leo.I don't want to discuss about his sex life."Roxanna waved her hand dismissively.
"You are no fun Rosa."Leo pouted.
"Whatever."
"Now can we go and actually have some fun please?"
"Am I so boring?"Anastasia teased.
Both of their eyes popped out.
"Did you just joke with us?"Both said in unison.
"Now you people are making me uncomfortable."
"Oops,sorry honey but I love it.Looks like the butterfly is finally coming out of the cocoon."

"I'm glad we're not making this awkward for you.I always thought Xander would marry an uptight bitch.But after meeting you I have come to realise that he has chosen wisely.You are like a sister I never had."
Tears glistened on both their eyes.
"Ohh girls you are making me emotional."Leo cooed softly.

After a brief group hug they got separated and made their way outside.
The day passed in a blur.Firstly they spent two hour in a spa and beauty salon.From full body and hair spa to manicure and pedicure.It was a real heaven for girls.As for Leo he went on for a brazillian waxing.He even painted his toenail with hot pink colour.

"That was so relaxing I tell you."
"Sure it was."
Anastasia's voice sounded strained.She was now sitting on a coffee house with a huge glass window facing outside.
She noticed a familiar figure standing outside with a cigar on his plump mouth.He was wearing a black hoodie jacket.His forehead was crinkled.He did not see her but she was sure this man was someone from her past.
A flash of images overflooded her mind.
A man beating a girl.She was bleeding yet he continued his assault.
She kept pleading him to stop but the man was unaffected.His brutal assault made her unconscious.
"Ana,Ana...Anastasia.."
"Huhh??"
"You okay.Your face is pale as if you've seen a ghost."Roxanna asked her,concerned etching her face.
"I need some fresh air."She got up quickly but all she could see was complete darkness...

"Good morning brother.You're late?"Xavier asked Xander whilst he entered the conference room.
"Roxanna stopped by and you know how it can go."
"Sure, sure."Now it was Xander's eyes looking at him skeptically.
Xavier shrugged.
After three hours of constant meeting,video conferencing.They took a break and together walked inside Xander's office.
"Just make sure we get this deal.It is very important to our company."
"Hmmm."
"Ok spill it.What is it?What is bothering you so much?"
"Why do you think something is bothering me?"
"Because you have this brooding face..Duh."

Xander pointed at his brother's expression.
"You do know you're married now brother."
"And your point is?"
"My point is..Uhmm I know this is none of my business.But your actions are now accountable to Anastasia."
Hearing Anastasia's name Xander was on full alert.
"Did she say something to you?"Xander asked sharply.
"No,why would she have to say anything.Everyone saw how you ill-treated her at her own reception party."
Xander was now full blown angry.
"This is none of your fucking business."

Xander clenched his fist.
"I know..Geez.Why are you getting angry big brother?I only mean you insulted her pretty bad.Though I should give her that she carried herself pretty well after watching you and your bitch of an ex eating each others face."
Xander was shocked.
"Anastasia saw that?No wonder she was so upset."He muttered.
"I mean brother.Anastasia seems to be a nice girl.She is beautiful scratch that she is stunning.And I think she has a pure heart.So think twice before crushing her soul."
This time Xavier's voice laced with something Xander couldn't decipher.
"And you think I'm crushing her soul.Wow.
Duly noted brother."Xander said sarcastically.
"No need to go all hulk on me brother."

"Yeah?Fine but let me make this very clear.She is my wife so she's off limits.Remember that Xavier."Xander said sternly.
"Are you jealous of me bro?Nice..Who would have thought the mighty beast has a jealousy streak in him?"Xavier wore a smug face.
"The heck I am."Xander snarled.
"Woah..woah.I'm sorry.Rule no. 1:Anastasia is off limits.
Rule no.2:Not to tell you that you are jealous of men praising your wife.Got it.Any thing else?"
"Xavierrr."
"Fine fine."Xavier hands move upward as if in surrender.
"But one thing I would like to inform you.I like Anastasia very much.You screw it and I'm going to snatch her away from you.I know it sounds dickish.But she deserves to be treated rightly."
"Are you threatening me Xavier?"
"Nope..I'm stating a fact brother."Gone was the cheerful banter of two brothers.Xavier's voice held seriousness.
"Don't worry I won't."
"I'll take your word for that."
Both of them nodded.

The intercom buzzed.
"Sir its your sister Roxanna."
"Hmm..connect her with my line."
"Now what does our sister wants?Talk to her Xavier.I have a meeting in 10 minutes."
"Hello Xander is that you?"Roxanna's voice was frantic and disturbing.
"Rosa you alright?And its Xavier.I'm putting your phone on speaker."
"Xander.."
Hearing her strange voice both the brothers' got up from their chair.
"Ana has fainted.I don't know her medical record.I'm in the City hospital.Please come fast."
"I'm on my way."Xavier intervened.
"Rosa its Xander.Listen just calm down.Now take a deep breath.We are coming okay.
Who's there with you?"
"Lee..oo."Her voice broke.
"Calm down babysister.I'm coming.See you there..."
