Chapter - 41

Her body was all sore.But she kinda liked it.
She stretched her arms only to be collided with Xander's broad chest.
She looked at him and beamed with happiness.
He looked so adorable sleeping like a baby.
Tracing his eyebrow and lips,Azalea scooted towards him.
"Keep doing that and I won't be considerate anymore."Xander murmured huskily.
"Considerate?Why Mr.King you weren't considerate when you made love to me again this morning?"
She mock-accused him.
"And I'd do it again in a heartbeat, if you don't move that sinful body of yours."
Azalea laughed and was only stopped when the door opened and in came Daphne.
"Daphne what the hell?"
"Umm..I'm sorry.I uh thought you both left."
She quickly left making both Azalea and Xander groaning.
"Didn't you lock the door yesterday?"
"I uh.."Xander looked sheepish.
"Ofcourse you forgot."Azalea muttered.
"How am I gonna face her now?Ughhh."
Xander pinned her to the bed.His hot breath fanning her cheeks.
"Its not that this is illegal.We are married.She'll get over it.And now for my promise."He had a mischievous glint in his grey eyes.
"What promise?"Azalea gulped loudly.
"I commanded you to move your arse,or bear the consequences."
Azalea moaned when Xander kissed her passionately.
Then the world was forgotten...

"Do you even realise,what the heck are you saying Lea?"
"I still can't believe it myself.How can he do this to you?"She murmured more like convincing herself.
"I dont give a damn what that pedlar told your P.I."
"I know one thing,he cannot do this.Not to me.
Don't you remember the Kings' motto?"
"Its blood that tied us..Its blood we shall never shed.."
"Yes the very same one.Xavier King is my brother.He will never try and harm me."

"Then you mean to say my Personal Investigator was mistaken?"
"Hell yeah.I am going to confront Xavier today itself."
"You are not doing any of that shit."Azalea roared over the phone.
"Not when I am not with you.Not when you are alone."Azalea added.

"Are you out of your bloody mind?Xavier?Our Xavier Azalea.Our Xavier.My younger brother.My own blood."Xander whispered the last word.
"The P.I gave me a bloody file Xander.A file where mescaline was purchased under Xavier's signature."
"What if the signature was forged?"
"Don't you think the idea crossed my mind?"
"I have checked and re-checked it through experts."
"Azalea listen just don't do anything stupid."
"Here goes my line.You don't do anything stupid so as to speak to Xavier."
"I will do as deem fit necessary."
"Xan..."suddenly the lights went out.
"Ughh.."
"What?"
"The power is off."
"Huh?That's weird."
She heard some shuffle of feet.
"Xander someone's here."Azalea was scared.
"What do you mean someone's here?"
She peeked through the narrow tinted glass wall.
"There are masked men each carrying a dagger."
"What about the other employers?"
"They all left,I was working late..."
"Click shut the door."
"Already done."
"Listen Azalea there is a switch under my table which has a recorder.Switch it on."
"But power cut?"
"It's not connected with the main power.Also,there must be another red button."
"Yes,yes there is."
"Press it."
"Done."
"Security will be on your way.I am reaching as soon as possible."
"Xander..don't,don't hung up."
"I am with you.Be brave Lea."
"Oh my God.."
"What now?"
"Xander..they are breaking the door."Azalea panicked.
Xander swore loudly."Hurry the fuck up Nathan."
On the second blow the door opened with a loud boom.
Azalea screamed in fear.
"Why the hell has the security not turned up?"Xander bellowed over the phone.

"Xander..help me.There are masked men."
A very burly man stepped inside the office and wrenched Azalea's cellphone.
The other one stabbed her in her stomach rendering her speechless.
"Xan..Xander.."Blood splattered from her abdomen.
In her daze,she saw a masked women.
"Good work gentlemen."
"What a waste?Such a pretty wench she is.
You could have just ordered to kidnap her.Atleast,I would've have my way with her."
"Hush,you fool! kidnap her?And face Xander's wrath?
She better be dead."
She turned to Azalea.
"Snooping around huh, Azalea Evans?"
The women in question snarled.
Azalea's eyes were drooping.Her eyes met with a set of jade green eyes.She unmasked her making Azalea gasp,then winced in pain.
"Hurry now, someone's coming.She's still alive.Kill her at once."With that the women in question left.
The other man who stood quietly quickly drove out his knife to strike again, when he heard shuffling of feet.
In his panic state,he ran to his safety.

When Xander and Xavier  witnessed Azalea.Their eyes widened in horror.
Her body lay still in the pool of blood.
"Azalea.."both Xander and Xavier shouted at once.
Xander tied a cloth on her wounds and scooped her in his arms.
"Hello,this is Xavier King.There's an attack on my sister-in-law.We need an ambulance..."
"There is no time to wait for the ambulance.
Hurry up and call Dad."

Xander's heart was slamming against his ribs.This smart,crazy,beautiful woman is in this state because of him.He blamed himself.
Xavier soothed him.
"She will be alright.Trust me."
Xander looked into his brother's eye inside his limo and was a 100% convinced that no matter what anyone says,Xavier is innocent.
But the point was who did this to Azalea?He shove aside that idea.

He should concentrate on his wife right now.
"Azalea,baby?I am here with you.Nothing is going to happen."
Her face was ashen.His own shirt was drenched in her blood.She lay still on his arms.
Xander,who was claimed to be a ruthless businessman,a beast,a man without a heart was now rendered tearful.
Hot tears brimmed his eyes.He blinked rapidly.A small lump formed in his throat.

As soon as they reached the hospital,Xavier opened the hospital door and demanded for a doctor.
A train of doctor came to their aid.
Azalea was transferred into the stretcher.
As soon as Xander's hand left Azalea.She opened her eyes and whispered a single name which made Xander's hair raised on the back of his neck.
"Regina...Regina King."She whispered and fell into unconsciousness...
