I heard the opening of the gate door, and I looked up to see Rick walking towards the garden. "Good morning." I mumbled, flipping a page in my book. I was sitting on one of the crates with my legs crossed. "Morning." He says to me smiling.

This was our little ritual. I was always here, bright and early because of the baby would never let me sleep. And he was here to work. Every morning.

He grabbed one of the tools and then back to the garden. I groaned, holding my stomach. "Whats wrong?" He asks me. I shake my head. "He loves to kick me." He laughs before putting his ear buds back in.

I looked over at the fence. The walkers never stopped. It was loud too. I hear something clang and I look over to Rick. He pauses, kneeling into the dirt before digging something up.

I stand up, holding my baby bump and walk over to him. "A gun?"? I ask him, staring at the piece in his hand. He doesn't answer me, just stares up at the walkers outside the fence.

He hands me the gun and the mag before putting his ear buds back in. I toss it into the wheel barrel and pat his back before walking back up to the prison. I passed Carl as I entered the prison.

I smiled at him before sitting down at one of the tables. People began to fill them while I read my book.

"Morning Daryl." I hear Dr. S say and I look up, smiling. "Whats up Dr. S?" Daryl says, staring at me. He had the sleeves cut off of his shirt. Everyone kept saying good morning as he walked up to Carol and I.

"Smells good." Daryl tells her, winking at me. "Just so you know, I liked you first." Carol says joking. I laugh, standing up. "Hitting on my man Carol?" She laughs at me, handing me a piece of.... I don't know actually.

"Stop." Daryl says and I laugh. He pops something into his mouth before looking around.  "You know, Rick brought in a lot of them too."

"Not recently." I say, grabbing the same thing and putting it in my mouth. "Give the stranger sanctuary, keeping people fed, your gonna have to learn to live with the love. You did with her." Carol says, pointing at me.

"What?" I say, my mouth stuffed with food. Daryl just rolls his eyes. "Right." Daryl says, smiling at me. "I need you to see something." Carol says to us.

I wipe my hands off on my jeans. "Patrick you want to take over?"

Patrick moves his glasses. "Yes ma'am." He pauses. "Um, Mr. Dixon? I just wanted to thank you for bringing that deer back yesterday. It was a real treat sir."

Daryl looks down at me and I smile up at him. "And I'd be honored to shake your hand." Daryl stops, looking down at his hand and then back up to his face. He sighs before licking everyone of his fingers and then slapping his hand, hard, and shaking it.

I giggle, looking up at Carol. She smiles and shushes me playfully before putting her arm on my shoulder. Carol turns to leave and we both turn to follow. "Have a great day Chloe!" He calls out. I smile, giving him a small wave. "You too honey!" He blushes and turns back to the stove.

Daryl glares at him before wrapping his arm around my waist. I raise my eyebrow up at him. "Possessive much?" he grunts, ignoring me. "I'm literally pregnant with your 5 month old baby. Relax."

He rolls his eyes as we continue to follow Carol. I take the bowl from his hands and take a piece of food, popping it into my mouth. He smiles at me before shoving his hand into his pocket and fiddles with something.

"What you got there?" I ask him, licking my lips. "Nothin." He says, taking a piece of food from the bowl as well.

"About today, I don't know if we're gonna be able to spare a lot of people for the run." Carol says to us.
