THIRD POV

The three sat in the van, and there were no words between them. (Y/N) and Barley were mad at Ian because he had called them screw ups, and Ian and Barley were mad at (Y/N) for not telling them that she illegally attended street races.

"(Y/N)." Barley scolded breaking the silence, "How could you not tell us that you race?"

"Because."

"You could get arrested."

"I already have. How do you think they know me?"

"What do you mean that you've been arrested."

"Well I got arrested, went to the police station, and escaped. Three times."

"But (Y/N), you could be hurt." Ian piped in.

"Well Ian, it kinda hurts when your own brother calls you a screw up."

"I don't know what happened back there you guys. But I don't think you two are screw ups." When there was no answer from his older siblings he continued, "Maybe the magic just, got it wrong, you know."

"Yeah." Barley sighed before he put in some old rick music.

"I don't know what happened." Ian sighed through the music.

(Y/N) just reached over and raised the volume.

"(Y/N)! Barley!" Ian pleaded before Barley stopped in front of an abandoned building with a vending machine on the side of the road. Barley hopped out of the van through the back and walked over to the vending machine. (Y/N) followed him, eating one of the bags of cheese puffs from earlier.

"Guys, c-come on."

"I'm not a screw up!" Barley flared at Ian.

"I didn't say you were."

"The magic said it for you."

"Well the magic got it wrong."

"Magic doesn't get it wrong!"

(Y/N)'s attention drifted away from the boys as they continued to argue, to the van where their dad was dancing. "Guys. You have to see this."

"WHAT!" Both guys snapped a little tense.

(Y/N) put a finger up, pointing at the van and the brothers' expressions softened when they saw dad.

"What is he doing?" Ian wondered.

"I think he can feel the vibrations of the music." (Y/N) started, "And he's dancing."

"Wow." Ian sighed in disbelief as their dad now stepped out of the van, "He is terrible."

Their dad's top part fell off, so how he was just a pair of legs spinning around on the grass.

"Yep. Barley agreed, "He's really, really bad."

"Oh no. Here he comes." (Y/N) warned with a smile as their dad approached, wrapping his leg around (Y/N) pulling her toward the grass.

"No, no, no. Thanks, Dad. Dad, thank you. I'm good" she giggled as she was pulled, "Stop. Okay, okay."

Their dad went over to Ian and Barley and pushed them into the grass as well. "I'm not really a big dancer." Ian chuckled.

The three kids danced awkwardly for a little bit before Ian pointed out, "Just Imagine what the top half of this dance looks like."

"I think I can remember it went something like this....." (Y/N) trailed off as she stood behind dad and started to shimmy, demonstrating the top half of the dance. The boys almost collapsed in laughter untill their dad tripped over one of his shoelaces.

"Ah, you danced your shoelaces loose there, Pop." Barley said crouching down to tie the laces.

Ian came over with the top half of dad and Barley sighed, "You know, Me and (Y/N) wanna see him too."

"Yeah, I-i know."

"It's not fair for you to call me screw up if you don't give me a chance to get something right. Just do one thing my way."

"You really think this 'Path of Peril' is the best way to go to the mountain?" Ian sighed.

Barley gave him a small nod and Ian nodded back. The kids and dad piled into the van and started to go down the road some more, before Barley drove onto another path. The rocks on the path made the back bumper come off as they continued down the Path of Peril.
