THIRD POV

"Boombastia!" Ian called out and a small burst of magic shot out from the top.

"Ah, remember..." Barely started, but then was cut off by Ian.

"Oh, right." He said before adjusting his elbow, "Boombastia!"

This time instead of just a little fizzle of magic, an entire firework exploded.

All three kids smiled at each other in amazement before (Y/N) praised, "You're a natural!"

Barley ripped off a piece of the 'boat' and tossed it to Ian. "Aloft Elevar!" Ian yelled and blue magic encased the piece of cheese puff. Ian tossed the piece to (Y/N), who tossed it back to him, who tossed it back to Barley. Barley shoved the whole piece in his mouth and sighed happily.

"Careful how much boat you're eating there, man." (Y/N) scolded.

"Yeah. We still gotta make it to the end of the tunnel." Ian joined in than sighed, I can't believe I'm this close to actually talking to dad."

"You know what I'm gonna ask him?" Barley quizzed, "If he ever gave himself a wizard name."

"What?"

"Well 'cause he was into magic." Barley explained, "Lots of wizards have cool names. Alora the Majestic. Birdar the Fanciful."

"It'll be nice to have more than four memories of him." (Y/N) sighed happily.

"No, three." Ian corrected.

"Hmm?"

"You said you only have three memories." Barley clirified.

"Oh right. Yeah."

"(Y/N) do you have another memory that you aren't telling us about?" The boys asked with pleading eyes.

"Well, no, it's just not my favorite."

"Oh. (Y/N). It's okay. I remember a little." Barley said putting a reassuring arm around his sister.

Ian looked at the two confused at why they were being so weird, "What do you mean?"

"Well, when dad was sick," Barley explained, "We were supposed to go in and say goodbye to him."

"He was hooked up to all these tubes and stuff. He didn't look like himself. Barley got scared and ran out."

"That's why I decided that I was never going to be scared ever again." Barely finished.

Ian looked at Barley and (Y/N) hugged him. Then Ian's gaze went over to (Y/N). "What about you? did you go?"

"Well, yeah. I went in and dad looked at me. There wasn't any life in his eyes. You know how I don't like people touching my head? Well that's because dad touched my head, just as he, you know, died. His hand slid off my head, and the heart monitor went flat." she said, holding back sobs.

Barley and Ian both hugged their sister and the three were in a tight hug until there was a blue glow. "Oh." (Y/N) announced, "Looks like we're coming up on something."

There were statues on either side of the river of wizards. The cheese puff boat hit land and the three got off of it. "The final gauntlet." Barley whispered as the four approached a large arch, "The Phoenix Gem is just on the other side."

Ian checked his watch again and saw there were only 2 hours left untill their dad faded away. (Y/N) was more concerned about the skeletons upon the walls. "Careful." Barley warned, "There could be booby traps."

"This place is like a thousand years old." Ian squeaked, "There's no way there could be..."

Just as Ian was about to finish his sentence, their dad stepped on a rock. That rock sank into the ground and chopped his top part off. All three kids let out a girlish scream, but then a gust of wind blew their torch out. The ceiling started to open and Barley knew exactly what it was. "Oh no. It can't be!"
