THIRD POV

Ian walked to a ledge that overlooked the sea, and the thing that he was dreading most, the setting sun. Dad was beside him, feeling around for something, probably (Y/N) and Barely. "No dad." he sighed, "They're not here."

He sat down on the rocks and dad sat down with him. His pants were still wet from the water chamber but he squeezed my legs anyway.

"Come on. Where is it?" Barley strained, looking for where the gem could be.

"Barley." (Y/N) said as she pointed to the old fountain, "Do you think it could be in there?"

The two ran to the fountain and hopped in the water, even though it was pretty dirty. The splashing caught the attention of two construction workers and they sighed because they already knew who the two were. "All right. Come on, out of the fountain." the woman said as she approached the two in the fountain.

"No!" (Y/N) demanded, "We're looking for an ancient gem."

"Oh, yeah, we know. 'The old days'."

They grabbed a hold of Barley and (Y/N) dragging them out of the fountain. "Okay, okay." the two grunted, "Okay we're leaving."

As soon as they broke free of the worker's arms they sprinted back to the fountain. This time though they climbed on the top layer of the fountain.

"Can someone call the cops? We have the history buff again with a new girl."

~~~~~~
Ian looked over the water, watching the sun get lower in the sky. He took out his notebook and pen from his pocket and looked at his list once again. He started to cross out all the items on the list, but when he got to driving lesson, he stopped. His mind wandered to the time with the sprites and how his two older siblings were able to get him onto the road.
He clicked his pen from black to red an instead of crossing out 'driving lesson' he put a check in the box. His eyes went to the top of his list again to 'play catch' and he remembered when he was in the cheese puff boat. He remembered how Barley, (Y/N) and him were throwing around the ball of cheese puff. He gave that a check mark.
His gaze went back down to the 'laugh together' and he thought of last night, after the big fight. He thought about how his dad's dance was bad and how (Y/N) was dancing the top half of the dance. He thought about how they all laughed, and put a check down next to that.
After checking off everything on the list, he went down to the last item, 'share my life with him'. He remembered to the time where he was in his backyard pool, scared to go off of the diving board. (Y/N) was already in the water below encouraging him to go on and jump. Barley then came up behind him and pushed him into the water, into (Y/N)'s arms. The three then splashed and had a fun day together.
Then he thought about how the three were having a pillow fight on Ian's bed. Barley lightly tapped Ian with the pillow, and (Y/N) then whacked Barley. Ian then softly swung his pillow, hitting both (Y/N) and Barley, who fell down dramatically.
He thought about how Barley and (Y/N) were on each side of him as he started to bike without training wheels. And the woo-hoos that followed him when they let go.
He thought about (Y/N)'s first day of college and how him and Barley were trying not to cry, already missing their sister. Their mom was beside them bawling here eyes out, but the boys decided to hold each other instead of her.
Ian looked at his entire list and saw that it was all crossed out. When he got down to the 'share my life with him' he crossed out the him, and replaced it with 'them' before checking off the box. He looked at his list again, and smiled, realizing that his big brother and sister were there for him the whole time.  He tucked the notebook away before grabbing their dad's leash and running back to where his siblings were.
~~~~~~

Barley and (Y/N) were hugging each other atop the fountain and people started to watch. A police car pulled up in front of the fountain and some police hopped out.

"Okay come on." the police woman said sternly, "Get down right now."

The sound of the voice jolted Barley and (Y/N) and they looked around the fountain once again. This time Barley looked down and saw a small hole that was the same shape as the thing that told them to go to the water. (Y/N) nodded and Barley slid the piece of stone into the hole. The stone on top rumbled, revealing a Phoenix Gem. "YEAH!" (Y/N) and Barley shouted, while laughing like maniacs.

Ian raced toward the fountain, relieved to see his sister and brother there. Barely plucked the gem from it's resting place, and looked at it lovingly. "BARLEY! (Y/N)!" they heard Ian call.

"Ian! Look!" Barely shouted back holding up the Phoenix Gem

Suddenly red mist started spewing from the top of the fountain. Ian noticed and his face fell, "Behind you!"

Barely and (Y/N) looked behind them seeing the red mist spreading around the fountain toward the high school. "It's a curse." Barley breathed out.

The mist shot toward the high school and started to rip it apart. The mist also formed a glowing red orb. As the mist traveled through the school, it took chunks of building with it. The three watched in horror as the rocks began to form a dragon shape. To top it all off it took the school mascot's painted face and used that for it's face, which made it look kinda ridiculous. It roared at everyone and looked around untill it found the Phoenix Gem in Barley's hand.

"BARLEY RUN!"
