We drove for what felt like hours. Getting farther and farther away from my brothers. Sitting in a car seat in the back, two strangers made light conversation in the front. I held onto my stuffed rabbit, the only object I got to keep.
"Em, are you excited to see your new room?" The woman asked.
I only nodded and continued my daydream out the window. We arrived at a normal sized home with a freshly mowed lawn, a long driveway, and a plump tree in the center of the yard.
"Welcome home! Let's go to your room" my new dad said, getting out of the driver's seat and opening the back car door for me. I got out and took his hand that he had extended for me, walking into the front door.
By the door was a woven mat, fashioned from rustic strings. The house was welcoming from the open door to the wide hallway.
The house smelled like flowers. Most of the interior design was made of dark wood with cream accents. The stairs were right at the entrance, a simple chandelier hanging above us. A little puppy springs towards me in bouncing steps, almost losing her balance from excitement. She leaped up, pawing for attention and her wet tongue licking furiously at my outstretched hands.
"This is Kuma. I think she likes you" my new mom said, "she can sleep in your room if you want". She was in constant motion, wagging, wriggling, and jumping. She was a living store of pent-up energy, waiting to release itself to the world. To others, she was just a dog, but to me, it was love at first sight.
We ascended up the stairs and into a door to the left. My mom opened the door, revealing my bedroom. It was like a wonderland for princess driven recluses. The walls were a light pink that pulsed in the light sprinkled with various posters of cartoons and rainbows.
Honey-colored hardwood floors and a fluffy rug tickled my feet. There was an all-pink bed, the comforter pulled evenly on each edge, draping over the wooden boarding of the bed. A collection of stuffed animals placed neatly in one corner of the room and a little desk with a million art supplies in another corner. White curtains hung beside the window, partially blocking out the sunlight and the street stood just beyond the front yard.
This was the life I always wanted. Maybe I'll finally be a real kid.

Knock knock
"Come in" I answered.
"Ready? Your chariot awaits you" Taehyung said, coming into the room.
"Yeah, I just need to get dressed. What do I wear?"
"Well, we're just scoping out the area. We might go into some buildings and see what roofs we can access. Just dress casually so it doesn't raise any suspicion"
"Wanna help me pick something?"
"Yes!" He said running into my closet. I follow closely behind him, "wear this jean skirt!" He said, throwing a skirt at me while shuffling through the hangers.
"You don't have many options in here"
"Yeah, haven't had time to go to the mall lately" I answered laughing.
"Oh right. Ok here, wear this shirt but tuck only the front into the jean skirt and put this belt on"
He handed me a T-shirt and a black belt, "and put your hair up in a ponytail. Use a scrunchie. Put these heels on"
