"Minseok" Mom said, nodding her head, "it's been a while"
"Yes. Yes, it has. I must say... you did not age well" Father remarked, eyeing her up and down. A smile crept onto all of our faces but we hid it instantly. None of the Kim's or Mom found it funny. I noticed the three younger boys of Bangtan quietly snicker.
"How was life behind the bars? I'm sure you had a lot of time to do some thinking"
"Oh, I did. I thought about how lovely you looked when I did your eulogy. Maybe I can do it again"
"Sad day for you or were you too intoxicated to think straight?"
"You died, I cried, I moved on and now you rose from the dead. Huh... what are we going to do with you now?" Dad said, sarcastically and feigning confusion.
"I'll tell you what to do" Mom announced, "give me my daughter back, control this daughter of yours and stop her messing with my family" she placed her hands on her hips and I could do nothing but smirk evilly. Dad looked down at me and a small chuckle left his mouth.
"Are you sure she's my child? You seem to spread your legs for everyone" Dad said causing a smile to creep on my face again, "She's only doing what would make me proud" he said, confidently and placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Proud? She hung a deer out to drain its blood on my front steps!" Mom yelled, pointing her finger at my father's face.
"That's my girl" he complimented.
"Your son hung me out to drain my blood in a dingy warehouse. Call it even" I shrugged. I pulled the gold necklace off of Geongmin and shoved her towards her family. Immediately Namjoon took her in his arms.
"Why do you hate me so much? I'm happy where I am. Let me be" she said, choking out the words from her twisted lips as if they tasted bad.
"Because I'm kind of a bitch"
"Clearly"
"But this isn't about me. This is about you" I said, "You traded our family in turn for a kidnapper who beats women. You raised him and he turned out to be worse than what you ran from"
Her eyes darkened immediately and she sought murder, slapping me hard in the face. I felt a burning pain on my cheekbone. I knew she broke my skin with her nail when I felt a slit of it stinging. I pulled my head back with my eyes closed, trying to regain my composure. When I looked at Jaehyun, he was staring with the same forced restraint. I returned with a sinister smile and licked my lips.
"At least one of your brothers has a sense of mind," she said, looking over at Sehun, standing behind Taemin, "tell me, was that champagne good tonight?"
By putting two and two together, I came to the realization that she recruited Sehun probably to drug our drinks. The real question is... did he actually follow through? That's why they came down separately and that's why he came from the kitchen. He was the only one who didn't drink his glass.
"Come here honey" she waved him over. He didn't spare us a glance before shoving past us and towards Mom. "Hey!" I grabbed his arm to turn him around and face me.
"I'm sorry Em. I gotta do what's best for me. If you're smart, you'd do the same" he looked at me sympathetically before facing her. The saddest thing about betrayal is that it's always from someone you thought cared about you. Sehun really turned sides on us and we could all be dead soon with whatever he drugged us with. I wanted to pull him again but I stopped myself in my tracks and poised to attack.
"Sehun, stop" Jaehyun shouted grabbing his little brother by the shoulders. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Jae, stop. He chose his side" Joonho muttered, holding his brother back. I felt a pressure on my chest as I watched him walk towards her. She placed her two hands on both sides of his cheeks with the look of fondness in her eyes.
