Emrie's POV

We had just finished solving the arson case so tonight everyone gathered at Olde Queens bar to celebrate. It had been a little over a week since I've been in Chicago and everything was great. I had a job that I loved, I had a good group of friends, a potential bachelor, and no Bangtan or mafia business. It felt too good to be true. Hyunjin had called, probably to check if I made it across the world safely, but I didn't answer. I hadn't heard from any of the boys but I kept up with talking to Jisoo so she knew I was safe. I was happy here.

Knock knock
I went to open the door and saw Kelly hanging a red dress in her arms. "Just saying, red makes anyone look good," she bargained.

"You're the best" I answered, gesturing her into my apartment.

"I know," she said, coming in, "how did you not do your makeup yet?"

"Because I got lazy," I said.

"Ugh, do I have to do everything around here? Let's go" she said, dragging me by the arm to my bedroom. "Sit down" she ordered, opening my makeup bag.

"Kell, what if Luke doesn't even like me?"

"Then we're going clubbing and you're going to find someone. That's the goal" she said, applying foundation onto my face.

"I like the sound of that"

"When Ethan and I started dating, I thought he hated me but I played my cards right and now we're seven months going strong"

"Ethan Collins? As in the other lieutenant?"

"Yup, as in Luke's best friend. Girl, we can go on double dates"

"What do I even talk to him about? I don't know anything about firefighting"

"Trust me, firefighters can talk all day and night about the calls they go on. They're like little kids after watching a movie. They like to explain everything in detail so just ask him about his work"

"What if he doesn't have anything interesting to say?"

"Luke is the lieutenant of the rescue squad and Ethan is the lieutenant of the truck company so they have different calls they go on. Luke is trained for more intense and scary stuff so trust me, he's gonna have a lot of say. Not to mention you have the most interesting life, you shouldn't have trouble finding a topic to talk about"

The door knocked again and Kelly scurried off to answer it. A ring on my phone drew my attention.

Kim Taehyung

Why is he calling me? This was the first time I heard from any of them. Should I answer? What if it's an emergency? I'm across the globe, I can't help anyway. Even if I could, why would I want to?

I declined the call as Gabby, Kelly, and Hailey came into my room. They were all dressed up and makeup done.

"Girl! Did you just roll out of bed or something? How are you not ready?" Gabby said, a bottle of liquor dangling from her grip.

"Kelly was doing my makeup for me. I don't know how to be a girl" I shrugged.

"Well hurry up so we can take shots" Hailey suggested, coming over and brushing out my hair, as Kelly continued with my makeup. Gabby sat on the side drinking wine and telling us about an interesting ambulance call they responded to today.

After about thirty minutes, I was finally ready and dressed up in the dress Kelly brought.

"Ugh, you look so good! If Severide doesn't date you, I will" Hailey said. I looked in the mirror and admired how I looked. The last time I dressed up this nice was the nightclub mission and that ended badly.
