The not so boring train journey

Hi I'm Millie, I'm 16 and I'm from London however today I was travelling to Accrington in England to see my best friend Tia. She had moved to Accrington when we were both 13 and I hadn't seen her in ages! She moved in year 9 when we were in high school because her mum and dad split up and her mum wanted a change. So she moved up north three years ago and I haven't seen her since I was 14. We spoke on the phone every day after I saw her last but then we were both really busy, busy with school! I was busy with music and she was busy with art. She's really good at drawing and all things creative and I never was, I was useless at art but the other side of art (the musical side of art) was where I was what some people called talented, but to me I could just sing, play the piano and guitar.

Thousands of kids like me had the same dream but only some could live that dream.For me the reality was I was nothing special. I wasn't only going to see Tia because we hadn't seen each other in ages but it's because she won tickets to the week 8 of the X Factor live shows and ironically she won two so she said that she wanted me to come. She loved this new boyband called Stereo Kicks or something but for me it was Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini, they were both incredible! I had been watching the X Factor this year kind of hoping that I would be on that stage next year but we'll just have to wait and see. I got on the train in London to go to Lanchasire where Tia would be meeting me with her mum, to take me to their house in Accrington where I would be staying.

I hopped on the train and took a seat at one of the big tables, today was Tuesday and it wasn't that busy so their was quite a lot of seats that were empty. I sat down and put both of my bags on the chair next to me and pulled out my phone, I quickly checked twitter and then started to listen to my music when Ed Sheeran started playing.
I loved Ed Sheeran he was amazing and he influenced my music when I was writing songs with my guitar, sitting in my bedroom putting covers on YouTube.

Tonight I was also doing a gig local to where Tia lived and she said that one of the boys from that boyband off the X Factor was performing there too but by himself which is why Tia said if I could bring my guitar along to perform as well. I was looking out the window when someone sat on the table next to mine on the train, I looked to my right and saw a boy about my age, with a browny blondy quiff. He had a guitar too! He turned to look at me and I just smiled, he smiled too and that's when I realised that I'd seen him before, but where? After thinking for a long time, it all added up. He was the boy from that band off of X Factor, Tia told me his name but I couldn't remember it, but I knew it started with an R. My thoughts were interrupted when the mystery boy spoke in his thick Lancashire accent.
"You play the guitar?" He asked whilst staring at me.

I turned my head to look at him, his eyes were beautiful, they reminded me of the sea. Ok stop, Millie! You don't even know the boy and he's waiting for you to answer his question!
"Erm... Ye... Yeah I do" I said stuttering, mentally face palming myself. Trust me to stutter to a boy who is gorgeous! Wait what?! No Millie stop!
"Oh cool, I play too" he said showing his perfect smile. Oh my god, stop now, that's enough Millie!
"Yeah I know!" I said, sounding really excited. "I mean I know that because you've got your guitar with you obviously" I said, wanting the ground to swallow me up.
He just giggled a little, smiling at me and looking into my eyes at the same time I looked into his.
"I'm Reece" he said not taking his eyes away from mine but still smiling.
"I'm Millie." I said putting my hand out for him to shake in which he gladly accepted.

"Do you know who am I?" The boy I know now as Reece spoke.
I did but I didn't want to sound like a really big weird fan, because I wasn't.
"Erm not really, well I mean I've seen your face before but I can't place my finger on where I've seen you" I said, why do I have to be so awkward!
"I guess you haven't been watching X Factor this year?" He said smirking slightly giving me a clue that I didn't really need but sshhh.
"Erm I have, your on the X Factor aren't you! Are you part of that 8 piece boyband? I asked already slightly knowing the answer.
"Oh so you have been watching then, and yeah I'm part of that boyband" he said smiling.
"Oh so that's why I knew you were familiar then"
"Yep, you must of just liked my face more than the others boys if you remembered me" he said smirking and showing off.

"No actually, I think that the youngest one is really cute!" I said smirking, and playing him at his own game.
His smirk then disappeared and I just giggled.
"Of course I saw your face silly, I saw all of your faces. And you've got a really good voice by the way" I said smiling
The smirk then reappeared on his face," you think so?"
"I know so, your gonna do brilliantly after the show, every boyband always does" I said.
"Thanks and I hope so...so do you sing?" He asked
"Erm yeah I do, but whether I'm good or not is a whole other story" I said giggling to myself.

Reece's POV
Her laugh was so cute, she was so cute, wait what am I saying, I've only just met her! "I bet your really good" I said trying to boost her confidence."Thanks," she blushed "I'm performing somewhere in Accrington tonight, and I got told that someone from X factor was going to be performing there too, is it you?" She asked. "Erm, yeah I am performing there tonight, I'm from Accrington so they've been supporting me like mad, and i get to go home for just tonight and then back to the studios in London tomorrow afternoon." I said smiling, that means I would get to hear her sing."Looks like I'll see you there tonight then." She said smirking. "why are you going up north though, you sound like your from London." I asked slightly confused. " well basically my best friend Tia moved to Accrington when she was 13 and obviously we were both from London and we were only 13 so I couldn't go up to see her that much but she basically won two tickets to see this weeks live show of X Factor and she asked if I wanted to come." She said sounding out of breath."Oh ok" I said trying to process the information. "And so I'm staying at hers until tomorrow and then tomorrow morning we are going to stay at the X Factor house because our other best friend is Lauren Platt and I'm just doing the gig because Tia really likes Stereo Kicks, heard you were performing and wanted me to perform too!" She exclaimed as she fell back into her chair breathing heavily. "Right ok, just give me a second to process that in my brain" I said as we both started laughing.

Millie's POV
We had been talking for so long I didn't realise that we were now at Accrington station." Oh, we're here already!" I exclaimed, grabbing my bags and slinging my guitar case over my shoulder."Wow we must have been talking for hours!" Reece laughed. We both stepped of the train as the fresh open air hit us both, it was surprisingly warm for November. "Well I guess I'll see you later then?" I asked but it came out more of a question."Erm, yeah you will, I can't wait to hear you sing" he said smirking." I can wait for you to hear me sing, I'm really nervous!" I said over thinking things. "You'll be amazing, don't worry and just think I'll be there smiling and i now I've only just met you but I'll be proud of you!" He said making me blush which made him smirk." Ahh, thankyou! Your so sweet" I said trying to get rid of the redness on my cheeks." I tell you what, give me your number and I'll give you mine and then if you get nervous before I see you again then you can call me or text me." Reece said smiling." Would you really do that for me? That would be amazing, thankyou!" I exclaimed.
After we swapped numbers, we went our separate ways. Reece was so sweet, he was different to all the other boys, there was just something about him.
