Cross' legs were acing, the numbing pain in his legs was all that he could think about. After all he was bored out of his mind, with nothing to distract himself. Why yes, he could listen to the Prince's lessons as well. But could he really? No. It wasn't for him to listen to, as he wasn't training to be the next leader of a kingdom.
He noticed that Dream just seemed to be playing with a quill and not really paying attention. Only writing something every once in a while. It didn't help that the teacher's voice was drone and uncharismatic, her voice just being straight to the point and not very interesting. Despite what was being taught.
Soon though someone's head popped around the corner. Everyone looked other to who it was and it was the Queen. Cross and the Teacher bowed.
"Could I please borrow Dream for the rest of today?" The Queen inquired seeing as though Dream was still in a lesson.
The teacher quickly nodded. "Of course, your highness. We were nearly done with the lesson anyway."
Dream then got up tucking his chair underneath. The Queen smiled then as they both left the room, leaving Cross behind. The teacher gave Cross a rather strange look.
"You can go to you know?"
"Uh, yes, thank you."
Cross went around the room, stumbling a little as his legs were already numb and he couldn't feel his feet off the floor. Cross hung onto the walls after shutting the door to the classroom behind him. He held onto the banister railings as he walked down the stairs.
"Hello." Cross was a little bit surprised upon hearing someone else. He looked around and his eyes met with someone else's... well it was difficult to tell. Their eyes were just void less, like they didn't have eyes. But they must off... or else how would they have seen Cross or be wearing a Royal Guards' uniform.
But not just any Royal Guard's uniform. The one's similar to what Cross was wearing. Just instead of a small sun on the right hand side, there was a small moon on the left hand side.
"Hello." Cross said awkwardly.
The other person just smiled then. "You're the new royal guard aren't you? I've been hearing a lot about you from Nightmare." They brought their hand out then.
Cross laugher nervously. "I hope they've been good things." Cross also brought out their hand and the other person shook their hand.
"Trust me, I had bad rumours around as well when I first started." They said in a reassuring tone. "I'm Killer by the way."
"Cross." Cross said.
Killer then folded his arms. "So... how are you finding it around here?"
"It's quite nice here." Cross replied, feeling his legs come back now.
"Got a favourite part?" Killer asked.
Cross instantly thought back to Dream. Luckily he didn't just blurt that out. "Well I really like the garden." Cross answered again.
Killer smiled. "Yeah. It's pretty nice to sit there. Especially at Night." Killer agreed then, seeming to stare at the ground for a moment. "Well it was nice meeting you Cross, gotta go now. Make sure Nightmare's not stressing out to much." Killer waved goodbye jogging up the stairs then.
Cross looked behind him. "It was nice meeting you too!" Cross quickly said as he saw Killer disappear down one of the many corridors.
Cross then began walking down the stairs, sighing in relief. He had finally made a good impression. And possibly had someone to relate too while inside the castle. Now he was looking for his Prince not really knowing where to look for him, at least he knew Dream wouldn't be in the garden, since Cross wasn't there with him.
