The forest was surprisingly calm. There were small little animals scurrying around on the dry autumn leaves. The birds were gliding from tree to tree, singing their songs. The rustling of leaves in the bushes and the pitter patter of mice going from the holes in the trees and sprinting as fast as they could.

The trees provided cover from the sky. They were thick and dense and looked as though they had stood there for centuries. Some tree's had carvings in them which came from the village that was far behind the two. There were some scratches at the bottom of most of the largest trunks of wood. Mostly the grand great oak tree's that had stayed there the oldest.

It was dark though. They had been walking for a long time and the golden willow tree was nowhere in sight. The wind had lowered down in the forest and it now had a mythical vibe around it. It was nice.

Cross then grabbed hold of a tall stick that was from the ground to his waist. Before also grabbing a sharp rock and sharpening down one side, trying to create a point.

Dream wasn't really expecting this, as he tilted his head a bit confused. "What are you doing?" He giggled a little as he gave a confused look.

"Making a spear." Cross replied. "We don't have any food, so were going to have to hunt down some food to eat." Cross continued to sharpen it down. "According to the map there should be a river around here somewhere." He peered around.

Dream looked down at the map. "Yeah, it's a bit further up." Dream said in agreement. "So were going to need a campfire or something." Dream looked at Cross for a bit of reassurance on whether he was correct or not.

"We are." Cross then got up. "Okay, let's walk further up closer to the river so we can set up a camp somewhere." Cross recommended.

Dream nodded. "Let's go then." Dream complied. As they walked a little further up.

It actually ended up being a calm river, lucky for the two. Cross took off his jumper since he didn't want it to get wet as that would be his only form of warmth while they were there. Well... if it gets too cold, he could cuddle Dream.

"Cross why'd you take your jumper off?!" Dream exclaimed as he looked other at Cross who had now jumped in the river with his make shift spear. His face a furious blush as he saw Cross. So much so he covered his face with his hands.

"Cause I don't want it to get wet." Cross replied, standing on a shiny rock that glistened in the sunlight. "Right. Do you know how to make a campfire?"

Dream looked at his feet for a moment as he put the map in his pocket. "No sorry."

"That's okay." Cross assured. "Okay, while I catch us some dinner, do you mind getting some wood, any wood, so we can start a fire for tonight."

"Of course." Dream agreed. "I'll be back soon!" He called before running off.

Cross smiled a little. "If you need anything shout!" He called after. Before going back to being silent and watching the fish that travelled along the bank of the river.

Dream began humming a tune as he made sure not to wander too far away as he picked at the stick that had fallen from the tree. When suddenly he was hit with a wave of sadness. His brother and Killer still weren't there with him, but he knew that they would be okay. Nightmare and Killer were the strongest people he knew, along with Cross.

So he was reassured by this, but still worried obviously.

However his arms were soon up to the brim with sticks now. Whether they'd actually be good fire wood that would be up to Cross to decided, since Cross appeared to be very knowledge in surviving out in the woods. The first thing he did remotely survival related was making a spear for fishing, which 'wouldn't a fishing rod be more efficient?' Dream wondered.
