Cross X Dream.

Chapter 19

A/N. Another chapter. I know I said I'd do it tomorrow but no! I wrote this and I'm proud of it.

Cross and Dream sat beside the window sill. The cottage had now stopped 'walking', 'travelling'? And had settled back down into the ground. Quertz had left a while ago. Saying that he was going to get fresh berries and such for some food. The next day they would be returned to the castle.

Cross had noticed that Dream, still looked upset. Pulling the smaller closer to him, while still looking out the window. "Something's bothering you still." He spoke, feeling as though Dream had leaned into him more. "What's the matter?"

"When we go back home." Dream began. "We're gonna be trapped inside again aren't we?" Dream looked down at the root of the tree's.

Cross thought for a moment, as he hugged Dream closer. "Dream... I don't know." He answered.

Dream took hold of Cross and leaned into Cross chest. "Well that's good." A small smile appeared on his face. "At least were still in the same boat."

"We'll always gonna be in the same boat." Cross stated. "And if I find anything that you want to know I shall tell you." Cross continued.

"Same for you." Dream also said. "Cross?"

"Hm?"

"When we get back into the garden, after the traitor is gone. Could we sit under the willow tree and read our book again?" Dream looked up at Cross, for some random reason Dream's eyes to Cross, was more entrancing than they normally was.

Cross smiled. "Of course." Cross agreed, his eyes also shining. "I love your voice when you read." Cross complimented.

Dream smiled, causing Cross to smile. "I love your smile. It's really pretty." Dream also complimented.

Cross brought an arm to his mouth covering his mouth. Soon then feeling Dream take hold of his arm and pull it down.

"Don't cover it!"

"You made me embarrassed!"

"How? Your smile is pretty and needs to be seen!"

Cross then stood up slightly, swinging Dream other with him. "Why are you so cute?" Cross said seeing as though Dream was now giggling a little.

"I don't know. Why are you so pretty?"

"I asked first." Cross stated. "Answer me first."

Dream shrugged a little. "It's a very long complicated story." Dream replied, then sitting next to Cross.

Cross raised a brow. "Well lets hear?" Cross rested a hand on his chin.

"I was born this way." Dream answered. Soon feeling that Cross was then scuffing his hair up. Dream felt himself start laughing.

"Wow, well done." Cross smiled a little, seeing as though Dream's laugh was now becoming contagious. "Well my friend, my answer is the same." Cross replied.

"Glad you were born this way." Dream said, putting his hands on either side of Cross' face. "Loving, caring and loyal."

Cross only sighed. "Dream. Can I tell you something?" Cross asked. Which Dream nodded enthusiastically. "When you dream, what do you dream about?" He wondered.

"Well, I dream about you know us. Ever since you came to the castle to be my guard, I've had dreams about you. Since I've always wanted to explore the world one day. But I couldn't leave the castle that much." Dream paused for a moment. "Then you came along and allowed me to go into the garden. So... I would want to explore the world with you." Dream answered a little.

Cross smiled. "I would love to explore the world with you and make your dream come true."

"Oh I also had a dream last night that you kissed me." Dream added like it wasn't too important. Cross looked off to the side awkwardly. "Wait..." Dream saw then that Cross' face went a bright purple, as a bead of sweat fell down his face. "You did!" Dream exclaimed.

Cross continued to avert his gaze then. "Maybe..."

The room was silent. Cross was expecting Dream to be having a negative reaction about what Cross had done the previous night. In fact the silence was killing him, as his mind was instead filled with negativity.

'I've blown it'

'He doesn't like me like that.'

'Who would'

'Dad didn't'

Cross thought as he then stood up to walk away from the conversation.

"Cross?" Dream questioned, taking a hold of Cross' arm.

"Just say you don't like me like that." Cross said, voice quiet and threatening to break.

Dream gave him a puzzled expression. "Well, you're wrong. I do, like you like that." He smiled. "I guess this is what Night was telling me about when I was younger. That one day I'd find a guard that makes me feel special and fuzzy inside." Dream went on. "Oh god I hope now that, I'm not being awkward. Cause I'm not good at stuff like this." Dream then fumbled with his words.

Cross sighed in relief then. Negative thoughts gone. 'Now'. He thought as he wrapped a hand around Dream.

Sweet.

Soft.

Caring.

But of course sudden.

Cross had done it.

Done the first move. Sealed the deal. Confirmed to himself that this was indeed what he wanted. To Dream, confirmed that Cross was the one he was waiting for. While it sounded strange, it felt as though they were waiting for this since the day they met.

The gemstone, glowed golden and showed them in the garden again. The willow tree where they met covering them from the people outside. The staff being too scared to enter. The birds singing happily. The flowers swaying gently as though they were dancing in celebration.

It just felt right.

Only after a few seconds they parted. Faces furious in blush. Dream definitely looked as though he had changed from that. As Cross noticed that Dream couldn't stop smiling and neither could he.

"Dream. Do you really want to be with me? You're still young." Cross asked, again doubting himself.

"Cross." Dream only sighed happily. "I want to be with you, if you'll be with me." Dream responded.

Cross nodded. "I love you."

"I bet I love you more."

Dream gave a quick kiss to Cross' cheek.

The happiness they felt that day, would never leave them. Not til the day they died.

But of course.

Someone wanted revenge.

And would soon have their way.
